James. Any chance I can beg you to leave this open a little longer? I’m in but I just bought a new set of tires and the Mrs. needs to get a handle on that before I throw some more at her. She usually responds with more purses and shoes so we will see what shakes out. Thanks man.

Order up about 10sqft of the noico sound mat from Amazon. Only like $20 and you can use it on the plastic door panel while you have it off. I cut pieces to stick on "problem" areas that rattle and vibrate. Made a huge difference and I already have sound matting in the doors. If you dont have any on the steel door skins maybe pick up 36 sqft thatll be plenty to to the plastic door panel problem areas, and stick some on the steel door skins to really make them feel and sound much more solid

Enough to do the plastic door panels $20
    https://www.amazon.com/Noico-deaden...eywords=noico&qid=1551504359&s=gateway&sr=8-5
Enough to do the panels, key areas of inner and outer door skins, parts of back wall to make the sound and feel.like thick steel $55
    https://www.amazon.com/Kilmat-Deade...eywords=noico&qid=1551504359&s=gateway&sr=8-9
For $50 more you could add a layer of self stick foam to the doors and back wall. Cuts down on road noise and vibrations even more.

But I the very least I'd get 10 sq ft of the noico to put on the doorpanel itself, like on the door handle area, under the door lock switches and where different plasic parts come together and vibrate

Pieces added to the door like behind the speaker and on the large flat areas of the door skin just make the door sound and feel solid. Figures since you're in there its worth the extra 20-50 bucks to make a big difference in sound

Once you get the door panel off throw it up on your countertop and start tapping in different areas, you'll find the spots you wanna stick the stuff to. If I have time I will pull my panel tomorrow and post a pic or two. It really seems to have made a difference

That stuff is to reduce rattles and vibrations and add mass to the metal on the doors to make them not sound so tinny. Helps the music sound better.
If you wanna kill road noise look into adding at the very least this foam stuff. And even better a layer of mass loaded vinyl over that. The MLV isnt too easy to work with and is very heavy. Takes lots of cutting and trimming to make it right. You also have to cut the OEM styrofoam down on the door panel so it'll all fit back together. It's a lot of work but worth it.
For times sake I would at least use the noico or killmat butyl tiles on the door skins and plastic doors panel while installing the speakers. You do not need more than about 25% coverage to make a huge difference. And will only add about a half hour to door install. You can always go back and add foam and MLV another time. MLV is not cheap either

Thanks pudge for all the tips on the deadening. I will hopefully have some Noico coming today and will start on my doors. I want to clean up some wiring as well due to the fact that I have a weird buzz from one speaker that only happens on certain frequencies...I am hoping it is just wiring buzzing inside the door. Once I get the doors done, I am going to see how much Noico i have left and possibly do the floor, back wall and ceiling. Personally, I am going to do this and see how it sounds before jumping balls deep with MLV and CCF.

Just installed the dash infinity speakers and the custom center speaker. Wow! Pretty amazing difference, well worth the price indeed! Thank you!

I think we both have different definitions of amazing cause the dash is definitely quieter. The difference is in the doors.

Helps with road noise too, but improved sound is more noticeable. I got the box off Amazon awhile back and it's enough to do all doors and back wall. I'll probably grab another box to do the floor to help with road noise. just remember to order your roller when you order the material.

How did you get all the holes for the wires, etc in the right spot, did you make a template or just put the rolls on solid really carefully and then poke holes?

    Great deal!
In but need to know shipping time. Don't want to leave package unsecured. Already have Noico mat coming so it would be nice to knock out deadening and speakers in one shot ....

Cleaner, more definition of sounds, both mid and high. They suck more power so like-to-like volume levels of old vs new, is like comparing apples to oranges. The sound quality is what the goal is here, and that, as said, is amazingly apparent!

I start at the top left and go left to right. Then when a wire is coming up I'll peel the top of and roll that down to hold it into place then lay the rest over with the backing still on. Feel/look of a wire then mark a line of where the wire goes with my finger nail then lift it up and cut a slit (its easier to cut when the backing is still on). Then keep peeling and when you get to the slit move the wire and work around it. Best way I can explain it haha

So what's the better sound matting surface: plastic door panel or the door? I think @Pudge put it on the door panels. Thoughts?

I'm not doing my doors until the weather warms up and I only want to take the panels off once.

I'll be interested to see how you like that amp setup. Ive been thinking about getting that 8 channel and ditching the 5ch.
