I looked at True Car today and it appears that people are paying MSRP for Pros. SR5s are selling at discounts but not what I am use to. I got 10% off on my Tacoma Baja. Is that reasonable to expect on a Tundra? I know people are paying mark ups on Tacoma Pros but I refuse to settle for anything less than 10% discount.

A month ago, I bought a Pro sticker price was 48,218, I paid 45,750. Before I bought the pro, I was looking at a Sr5 crewmax TRD Offroad with navigation sticker was 44,xxx, they came down to 42,200. Maybe able to get a better deal now that the 17's are coming out.

That's what I did, and saved more than 7k. They were tryin to profit over 15k for a lifted truck with 35's, and it wasn't even a stage 2 lift.

I would buy a SR5 and build my own.

As you can see from my post above, there was only about $3,500 difference in the Sr5 and the Pro. To me I was going to build mine to be like a Pro anyway so $2,500 in parts for suspension plus labor, $1,000 for exhaust, plus the leather, for me it was cheaper to just buy the Pro. Then again, I wasn't able to get them to come down much on the Sr5 because they were going to have to trade with another dealer to get what I wanted and they weren't willing to work on the price much.

Pro's were cool when they first came out. Coolness factor has kind of wore off on me. The Pro is decent. Very decent. Why not buy a SR5 and do it better? SR5=a phone call to ToyTec. Quite frankly, Toyota could make a better PRO if the OEM suspension could be as good as the Raptor. Will never happen. DIY!!!!!!!!! I'll most likely go over 70K miles while grouse hunting tomorrow with my 2007. Better suspension than a TRD although my OEM stereo is not up to snuff. BFD.

Unless I can get a decent discount on the Pro this is the way I will go. We will see when the negotiating starts. Owning a Baja I have had to deal with all the ones on Tacoma forum that said start with a SR5 and do mods yourself. The BFG ATs were why I bought the Baja. I needed a better tire for the ranch I hunt and have changed out brand new OEMs before. It works out financial if you can sell tires for decent price or have another use for them. I did the latter since I owned 2 F150s with same rim size.

Another taco owner needing a bigger truck...can't wait to see what you would get.

I really wanted the Pro, truth to be told...but the dealer usually has 15 tundras and none Pro. Once in awhile they have one and they hide it on the back...absolutely NO deal on the Pro.

Glad I got the pro, would do it again. Would not want any color but while.

Every time I stop for gas I usually have someone wander over and ask "Is that a Toyota?!" and make a comment on either the color or how Toyota is stepping up their game. And yes its usually from another truck owner. I love watching their face when I show them the inside too lol.

I have no regrets buying my Pro however if I were shopping for a Pro today I might think twice. Only because I bought mine in 2015 when the hype wasn't as big as it seems today and I was able to get it for a pretty good price, not to mention the trade in they gave me on the Taco!

Resale values on Tacomas are crazy. I traded my 2009 in 2013 for 80%+ what I paid for it. Dealer listed it within a couple hundred of what I paid new.
