Helluva time aligning these lights... Not blaming anyone but myself. Brackets are nice and solid.

If I'm aiming the Rigid beam on a flat wall, what height to the top of the cutoff at what distance is appropriate to not blind oncoming traffic? Any suggestions?

Currently the top cutoff is below the headlights, but at some distances it bleeds into the headlight beam. I realize YMMV, but thought it was worth a shot to solicit you all.

    Thanks!

If I remember correctly, mine are the SAE and cut-off at about 28” from ground measuring at 3ft from the wall.

Depends on what your local laws say. Here in Washington there are minimum and maximum heights for auxiliary lights.

It also says the beam at 25 feet can’t project higher than 4 inches below the center of the lamp from which it comes.

Local laws in Virginia are absurd. And the annual state inspection is 100% subjective to the inspector's mood that day. My previous two annuals, I had to completely remove the foglights to pass, even though they are SAE F approved lights. The reasoning was that "the lights cannot be altered." Now what the hell does that even mean? Doesn't matter anyways, you can't argue with them.

Anywho, thanks for the suggestions. I put my OE fogs in and measured the distance with painters tape on a wall. The Rigid's are a little higher than that tape line, coming in at about 32" from the ground.

Hope everybody has received their sets by now. Don’t really have time to check all tracking #’s. Have one set remaining of connector harness adapter if someone wants to include in their order.

I shipped a lot of them yesterday and for my surprise USPS has raised their postal rates nationwide. Effectively Feb 4, 2019, there is no longer a First class package flat rate per weight.
The first class package base rate has been increased plus now there is a zone based charge.
So basically this means shipping charge around $1.00-$1.50 higher it all depends were you are shipping to. This applies to all shipping services. Here is a link to the new USPS prices.
    https://blog.stamps.com/2018/10/19/usps-announces-postage-rate-increase-starts-january-27-2019/
With this said, Bracket sets will increase to $19 to cope with new USPS shipping rates.
    Hope this doesn't bother anyone.

Just wanted to add my .02 to this thread after completing the install:

Shout out to @tanabersx - he is selling high quality brackets at a killer price! Everything on my truck is rock solid and there is no wiggle/bounce whatsoever in the lights. Wanted to post a picture of the final product here as well as add a description of how to do the work because, as mentioned earlier in the thread, its pretty tight working room wise up in the front bumper. Hopefully you have better working weather than I did... cold and rainy weekend here in central TX.

    This install was done using:

    • Tanabersx's bracket and hardware kit
    IMG_5987.jpg

First, I pulled out the stock halogen fog lights and installed the new TRD Pro bezels. Then, hand-tight assembled the lights and brackets and used the new TRD Pro bezel as a guide when adjusting the positioning of the Rigid lights. You'll want to try and keep Tanabersx's brackets as level as possible and make any/all other adjustments to the light's position using the bracket/hardware that Rigid provides. The Rigid bracket will attach directly to the light assembly for vertical (tilt) adjustments and allows about 1" of lateral/horizontal movement where it attaches to Tanabersx's brackets. There is more than enough X,Y,Z adjustment leeway for you to get the lights nice and centered in the new TRD Pro bezels.

Once I got them aligned correctly, I used a Sharpie to mark the hole in Tanabersx's bracket on to the frame for drilling and made a reference mark down the side of the bracket so I could get it into the same orientation when it came time to tighten everything down. After that, I torqued all hardware holding the light steady and holding the light's bracket to Tanabersx's bracket and did one more quick fitment check to ensure that I didn't accidentally move anything when torquing.

Next, the drilling. 3/8" drill bit used per Tanabersx's recommendation. Nothing special here, just putting holes in your truck.

Now the tricky part. Getting Tanabersx's brackets tightened into place inside the bumper when you have no room to work, a fog light and its brackets/hardware right in the way and big ol' greasy mitts like mine... Some experimentation, four letter words and beer led me to the following solution - Remove the TRD Pro bezel from the bumper to gain some extra room to work from the front of the truck. Going through the bumper from the front side of the truck, use a 90 degree "flex head" ratchet (one of those ratchet wrench combos where the ratchet side can pivot 90 degrees either direction) to come straight in and sit on the head of the bolt and hold it steady while you go to town on the other side with a standard socket/ratchet combo. Before you really torque down on the final nut, make sure that Tanabersx's bracket is lined up with the reference mark you (should have) made on the frame earlier. If you carefully adjusted your light's orientation and checked everything again after torquing the light into place, the bezel *should* fit around it perfectly once you get the final nut locked down.

That description makes it sound a little simpler than it actually is getting your hard contorted into the right shape, but all I can tell you is that once I figured the method described above, installing the second light required FAR fewer four letter words...

Hope this helps anyone who wants to do this mod - I love the outcome! And for much less cash than buying the OEM option.

Cant recommend Tanabersx's brackets enough - thanks for making a great product!

This question has probably been asked and answered, I was thinking of going with Rigid black edition which are not SAE Fog. Would these most likely be to bright for standard highway use?

    Thoughts?

I had a rigid midnight edition(black) 32” light bar in my tacoma and since the lens is spot, if you point it correctly it shouldn’t bother incoming traffic.

They really look good the only downside is they only come un spot because of having black reflectors no other optic will work and the lumens output is a little less.

This looks like a great mod for our trucks. Do you have an install thread on the best way to install these? Probably at the end of this month I will reach out to you for a set of brackets. Thanks
