Such a great find, your truck looks mean with it on. The sleeper setup will be perfect too, especially with 2 thick chicks back there with you. Ahaha

I done the same. Pulled the axle nut. Had to buy the socket from O'Reilly's. $15 socket. I went ahead and put in a lifetime warranty wheel bearing assembly while in there. I too only bought the removal tool. Judging how far to drive in the new bushing was a little bit of a concern for me. Made a huge difference in my truck after this repair.

Bought this Snugtop shell off CL last month for $550 with the rack and brand new ARE awning. Daughter said l look like ambulance.

After getting pricing on getting it painted i decided to give it a go myself. Also, I found a few leaks at the windows and figured they needed to come out anyway soooooo reseal and paint time. Just got the base and clear on today. I'll give it a buff this weekend and start putting it back together.

    When I got it

Yeah i'm a couple thousand miles away, to meet up we'd spend more in gas money than to buy a brand new topper with color matched caps. Was it easy to remove the windows? i need to prep mine for paint

    Thanks.

Can't wait to get it back together and on the truck. Have all kinds of lights, USB, outlets, storage, etc that I added. Today a Buddy gave me a practically new queen 4" memory foam mattress for it too.

Started building my storage cab today also.

    Lol... ain't that the truth.

Super easy. Just remove all the screws on the inside, remove the inside trim/frame peice, then the window is just held in place with foam tape. Run a putty knife around it and it'll pop right out.

I'd look into a Roof Top Tent on those roof racks, save the bed for other things

I debated on a bed rack and RTT, i even built a rack for it but then when i was at my buddy's house and we set up the RTT, i say to myself, i'm just too lazy for this. So i scrapped that idea and bought a camper, ill store extra fuel and recover gear on the rack, and other things on the cabin rack which i'm going to build. Besides, i can just pull into a walmart, climb the back and sleep when i'm on my cross country trip.

How does your snug top fits? I think mine is a little too close to the cab at the very top edge. Might have to sand it down a bit so it doesn't rub that spot, also, how do we connect the 3rd brake light? run wires to the tail light connectors? I also need to disable my cab's 3rd brake light and cargo lights as well. i dont know wtf mine was built with, but it weighs like 300lbs, not sure how to move it out to do work on it.

The SnugTop fits, well, snug. No clearance issues with the cab though. You may just try sliding yours back on the bed a bit to get a little more clearance. I'll take a better pic of the space between the cab and shell when i get it back on the truck.

    IMG_20190119_100604250.jpg

Yes, tap into your tail light for the 3rd brake light.

Yeah, they are a bit heavy. I used my son and one of his friends to help get mine off to work on it. Planning on doing the same thing when it goes back on. I'll have to say though, the truck rides a bit better with that weight back there.

New phone holder, it works pretty good. It plugs into cigarette lighter, and has volt meter, with dual USB ports.
