    Hey folks,

Just traded my 16 Sierra for a 14 Platnium and was so disappointed in the light output vs GM, that my first mod was to order a set of OEM leds before reading the 100 plus pages relating to the swap on the forums.

What do I know now, that I wish I had known? There are 3 different versions of the 2018--up LEDs. 1.CHROME (c140)
    2. Black/Smoke Chrome (c210)
    3. (2019 TRD Pro) All BLACK. (c211)

Kinda confusing with how Toyota lists the part numbers. I wanted BLACK, didnt know there were 2 versions of the black (I ended up with the smoked chrome). Well Im not sending them back, but the TRDs would lool better in my application.
Be sure you are ordering the ones you want.

I am still confused as to the turn signal hyoer flashing, as I am converting the standard bulbs 7443 that come in the new LEDs to an actual LED...so will I still need resistors, or does the new 7443 bulb design eliminate the need for additional resistors?

Anyway here is the part numbers for the Black/Smoke Chrome I received, just so you know these are not the ALL BLACK versions.20190227_173756.jpg 20190227_173756.jpg 20190227_173800.jpg

It's very likely you'll need resistors to prevent hyperflash. It seems some guys with 2018-19 tundras were able to plug and play LED turn signals with no issues. Others, myself included had hyperflash when installing LED turn signals. I will eventually get resistors and install them when it warms up.

Im not sure either...did you do the pin swap when putting led turn signals in the new lights? Maybe you can swap in LEDs and NOT do the pin swap or resistors? I wont be able to test this theory until Saturday. ..

Have the morimoto harness, and my Platnium has the DRLs already. Hope that's what I need....

I didn't have to do any pin swaps. i have a platinum so I got an ihacker harness it was 100% plug and play

No need for a morimoto control or harness. You DO need a conversion harness though. @iHacker makes the best one so I would order from him asap and send back that morimoto controller.
Where did you get you lights from? Who said you need a morimoto harness? And what do you mean by morimoto harness. You having a platinum, should not have to depin or change any pins around at all.

From what understand, the pin swap was for the new style standard bulb 7443 in the LED to NOT hyperflash...so when installing actual LED blinkers, I would need reistors? Or a pin swap? Or both? Or niether? Damn I wish I had time to just do it tonight and not wait till Saturday....

Ok that will work. Sorry I got confused when you said morimoto. Not long ago this conversion required a morimoto controller and harness but the new style harnesses eliminate that. I have read a few complaints about the HR harness but hopefully you'll have good luck. If its not too late or too costly I would send it back and order one from ihacker but that's just my preference.

You are going to love these new lights and how bright they are. I am very very happy with my conversion, I ended up doing LED fog lights too to match everything up front. Every now and then you'll catch a set for sale here from a member, recently someone was selling a set of 19 LED fogs for 150... that's a steal
Keep us posted on how this works out

I haven't heard of a pin swap to prevent hydrpflash. Interesting.

Have all LEDs to do Sat....interior and exterior.
And a set of Morimoto XB Led fogs (OEM was just too much on the fogs).

Cant tell you were i read it, scanned over 100 pages on multiple forums in the past 24 hrs, so may be confused, with all the differences in the conversion across trim levels.

I had a 14 Sierra and now an 18 Tundra so I agree. That said I had A laundry list of shot break on that truck and I wanted to compare notes. I was told that they had worked those problems out with the subsequent years....

16 GMC spent 8 weeks in shope for warranty work in 2 years and 45000 miles. Great mpgs, poor build quality, trans problems, seat problems, roof leaks (no sunroof), kept throwing codes....on and on. GM=Junk
