So I have been working on putting upgraded audio system in the truck. Got extensive enough to tear out interior put in dedner stuff like that. This is my daily driver so I'm only able to work on it after work hours and on weekends. But after work is done it needs to be all button back up and ready to drive the next day as I am a single dad and have to do the whole school commute work thing I need to have the truck.

So, with having to remove interior door panels and pillar panels and whatever else to accommodate for Audio install I have scratched some pieces of interior. They are just light scratches but because of black interior it looks like a big old white scratch. I'm sure I'm not the only one who knows that the interior of the tundra can scratch somewhat easily.

My question is has anybody come up with a way to fix the scratches on interior. Maybe not 100% fix but at least a little more presentable. Pics of to show some of the scratches I'd like to touch up.

The shallow ones you may get away with some armor all, or something similar

Standard Toyota interior scratches. All my Yota vehicles get them and it blows. The doors are the worst.

As opposed to outside interior? I joke, I joke :) When i vacuum my interior it scratches and I haven't figured out yet how to get the scratches out. Tundra interior is sensitive.

Not sure man. Some patients are kind of useless in their condition.

I've been fighting the doors for awhile.

Vaseline leaves a shiny mess and stains clothing.
Shoe polish sorta works only to transfer to your pants when going out to a nice restaurant.
The heat gun knocks the scrape down only to leave a shine or dull spot.
Aerospace 303 shines everything but the scratch
Solution finish black trim restorer burys it for about three months.

I have used a few different methods:
Black China marker (grease pencil). fill in scratches and blend out with rag / magic eraser.
Shoe polish is good but sometimes can be too glossy. fill in scratches and blend out with rag / magic eraser
    Heat gun
The heat gun method works great for removing the "white" stress marks of a scratch.
Basically you just heat up the panel until the stress marks go away.
The only issue is too much heat will wash out the grain texture and look glossy.
Ive done it with a bernzomatic torch with very quick passes. The heat gun is slower and much more controllable.
Using a brillo pad can help knock down the gloss, but don't go crazy or apply to much pressure. You don't want to create more scratches.
Sometimes removing material with an exacto knife helps knock down the scratch so it can be blended in better with the methods above.
    Good luck!

While I haven't tried it, others have suggested black Sharpie (on black interiors, of course). At least it shouldn't transfer like other methods might.

Had the same problem. Unfortunately, the only solution was to replace the damn panel and yes it was way too expensive for a piece of plastic. My OCD wouldn't let me live with it like it was.

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
When I detail cars with grey or black interiors including mine.

    I use Trim Shine.

It doesn’t erase the scratch but it helps hide it from catching your eye.

I just use enough to rub in the scratch or scuff mark. This technique doesn’t make my door shiny.

I messed mine up worse with a heat gun. Turned the plastic green. Have you done this or just seen people do this on another vehicles plastics?

I have the same scratches on my driver door panel from my pocket knife clip. A result of me squeezing out in a tight parking spot at work on a daily basis. The scratches severely piss me off since the truck is only 6 months old. I just realized I have the solution sitting in my garage and totally forgot about it until now. My '07 dash had some spots where the black had started to flake off. I researched how to fix it and settled on Color Bond Leather Vinyl and Hard Plastic Refinisher. The stuff is legit and the results are impressive as long as you properly prep. Also, you need to mask off EVERYTHING you don't want painted/dyed. I'm going to try it on my door panel when I get my truck back in a week or so (I got rear ended last week and now the truck is in the body shop).

The Toyota Black (2091) is what I used on my '07 dashboard. The only downside is that you pretty much have to order through Color Bond themselves.

Of course, just know that it won't be for a week or two.

Below is my '07 before I sold it. The black near the AC vents and a strip above the top glove box was resprayed by me. Sorry I don't have a closer pic.

I’ve done it, I wave the gun in passes. Works but ya, back away when the texture starts changing or it’ll turn green next. Then you gotta dye it with something that sticks and dries so it doesn’t stain clothes.
