hey guys. Needing some clarification. I want to install a set of 5100’s on the front of my ‘14 SR5 2wd to level it. Is there a specific 5100 I need (part number? Series) anything else I might need to specify exactly what I need? Also, do I need anything besides the shocks?

There are some good and bad YouTube vids out there. If you’re not buying them assembled with springs, that will have to be done. Either use your stock or new ones.
Here is instructions for my pro shock installation. Same rules apply.

This is the method I used the second time. Pretty simple. It took me two hours https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iH7FQUjmu20 I used the method @15whtrd posted here; took too long and unnecessary to remove all those bolts and loosen the a-arm cams; took me three hours. Go to Auto Zone and get spring compressors via their "Loan-A-Tool" program https://www.autozone.com/loan-a-tools/loaner-strut-spring-compressor . Take you time and wear safety goggles. Then go get an alignment.

It was my first time. But some of the parts/bolts removal seemed unnecessary. But that’s what was recommended and I wasn’t about to make shit up as I went lol. I’m very methodical and ocd. So I like to do it the recommended way the first time. Then make my own shortcuts.

Yeah, I hear you. When I did it the second time, I was like "WTF?" Sat there drinking my beer thinking about all the time I saved the second time around. haha I had a super hard time getting those two bolts back in that attaches to the bottom of the lower ball joint assy

Thats exactly what i was looking for. Thanks guys for the quick responses. this'll be next on the project list.

if my rear shocks (oem's) are still good, is there any point in replacing those at the same time?

Not necessarily. But I think I would want the rear to match. Some people change out the rears to 5160s I think it is.

I wouldn't change the rears if they are still good and function for your needs. I only changed mine because I lifted the rear.

Thats all I am having done. Just 5100 Bilstein in the front to level it out to fit the new wheels and tire. Did not see the need to mess with the rear.
