I have aal on my truck and it definitely squats a lot less with similar weight. Go for it. My concern when I was getting them was with the ride. So many people say that the ride is harsh with aal. I think the ride is pretty good. With extra weight in the bed, it should be even better.

No experience with the Icon AAL. Searched and found it to see what the description was. http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/ICON-15-inch-Progressive-AAL_p_1203.html
"replaces all the factory secondary leafs while retaining the factory main and overload springs. This allows us to modify the spring rate to increase ride comfort, obtain lift height, maintain load and towing capacities, and increase wheel travel."

Sounds like a good add on for a nice ride but not sure with added weight.

Wheelers sounds about the same "Maintains standard load and towing capacities."

Do you think these two products might be better because they are multiple leafs possibly made better and not just one or two that would be used as shims?

You end up removing most your stock leafs and replace with the icon or wheelers one. Would be a good ride I'm sure but it's set up for stock not the added weight.

You could get a new custom leaf pack from Alcan set up for the lift and added weight or the OME pack with lift. Those would be better as they lift with the added arch which would help with the added weight.

Would this cost me an arm and a leg over the icon and wheeler options?

I had this on my taco for years and have had it on my Tundra for a few months with no issues. The "harsher" ride isn't enough for me to really notice but the ride is definitely better when hauling or towing. I got a little over an inch in the rear and I'm a CM.

I wanted to revive this thread....

I want no lift in the rear but I do want a smoother more Progressive spring rate.
Talked with both icon and wheelers, they both mentioned that the mini enhancement pack can be added while keeping the overload Leaf uninstalled to net me about an inch of lift.

Anyone on here running the Deaver Mini pack or the wheelers enhancement pack or the icon Mini pack and the overload Leaf removed?

I'm running the Icon pack with 2"CB shackles, silky smooth pro ride is still there. I'm carrying around 1K extra constant payload. Ride height is slightly higher than stock. I also added shims up front.

I only maybe 5000 lb couple weekends a month and that's a trailer so that actual tongue weight or bed weight is much less. And when we go camping or shooting I usually have a few hundred lb in the bed.

So I really don't want any lift, i like the truck stance right now I just want something with a little bit better ride

... to add I also don't want to be spending six seven $800 on a leaf pack so I'm trying to figure out something that'll be a good fit for the interim.

Modified leaf spring geometry is the best solution for permanent load conditions. If you're compensating for occasional or intermittent loading you will be happiest with a system that is applied specifically when needed, like air bags.

.... that's the thing though, I don't want to compensate for the intermittent loading lol

Oh well, after talking to a few people, icon and wheelers I think I'm just going to do the expansion pack without the overload leaf and call it a day.

Did you end up with the wheelers enhancement pack and how has it worked out / held up?

I ended up going Icon expansion pack. 1st set clapped out pretty quickly, IIRC less than 6 months.

With that said, Icon specifically told me I can run without the overload and that it will ride great....well run ahead to when I reached out to Icon because the pack was crapped out. They asked for pics and such, no issues - sent. They then come back and say no no no, you cannot install without the overload and they would not warranty the pack. I said, well well well, sent them screenshots of my conversation (glad I don't erase things)....later that day tracking for the new expansion pack.

Aside from that, I have been happy with the lift and ride quality. I am running them with ADS with clickers out back so have a little better control with dry vs loaded. I have overcome the 1" vs 1.5" and the 1.5 ended up being just fine because my front lift is limited to a min of 3" - looks great. Prior to, I was sitting about 2.5 and liked the 1" look better. I am also running the Wheelers superbumps out back (fronts as well).

All in all, all worked out.

After knowing there is in fact a proper way to install (with the overload in place) no issues. after some towing, loads in the bed with an average of 150/200lbs dead weight back there every day - lift height still as expected.

I'm actually shocked the isolator pads are all still in place. They help keep the pack quiet.
