washed the baby yesterday and noticed that the plastic between the windshield and the bottom piece where the wipers sit is messed up. Anyone else experience this and can it just be replaced or do I need to get it with something else?

I actually recently purchased the truck from the dealer and just washed the truck for the first time. That’s when I noticed it.

the cowl isnt seated properly, reason i asked if windshield has been replaced.. installer may have not put cowl on properly or in some cases some hack installers dont take the cowl off when they install glass and stuff it between cowl and pinchweld causing what you see there the rubber strip on the cowl can be replaced if damaged it snaps on the edge of the plastic of the cowl although by picture it looks like cowl isnt positioned properly.

cowling is sitting too low, that rubber strip should be over glass not under it

Nothing is wrong with it. It’s just out of place from being pushed on. Probably when someone washed it. You just have to get it back into place. Mine has done it before.

the plastic that sits below it the glass and below this plastic seems to be too low in the middle only so should I take that piece off and see if I can put that back since it should go right back in?

Pop the hood, it might make it easier to see what’s going on. To me it just looks as if the small piece of weather stripping is out of place.

Yeah that happened to me as well. Forgot how I managed to pop it out but you have to play with it to pop it back in.

take off wiper arms 14 mil socket the two plastic pins on both sides holding cowl, lift cowl re-position,put back together the glass is supposed to rest in the channel between cowl and the rubber. the rubber trim should be on top of glass. s stated by 15whtrd if someone or something applies pressure it could push it out of alignment be careful if you do not remove/cowl dont try to pry it up you may crack the glass

Nice! I have to be careful when I’m drying it that I don’t push down on it too hard. If it gets slightly out of whack, I’ve fixed it with my drivers license sliding it between the glass and stripping.

THATS what it was...I leaned on it to buff the wax out on top of hood right in the middle right by the windshield and then I heard a “pop” and was like...oh man, that didnt sound good so I was looking and looking to find out what the pop noise was. Couldnt figure it out so thought maybe I was hearing things. Then a short while later, I was cleaining my windshield and thats when I noticed it and was like oh shit. So I started playing with it and massaging it back into place. Was so happy I fixed it because I got really bumed out since I only had my truck less than a week. Next day went to Lowes and bought a step ladder.
