No it's not touching the body on the sides, just hangs over a bit. I've seen other photos of it on Tundras with TRD stickers and it just covers the top of the letters so I am not surprised it does so on mine. For the brief time I got to look at it, it seems nicely made.

My first set I installed without removing the door panels, you just remove the small sail panel.

What rear is that? I was concerned about the same from my front SSO bumper. However, after 2 winters, I gotta say it's damn near perfect still. Here is a closeup of my SSO bumper, took pic only couple weeks ago when I replaced my hood bulge.

I think it's not as much the p.c as it is the steel that's used. For example, my mass produced Magnum RT side steps were rusting before I had them linexed. Even after having them linexed, its a million times better, but u can still see a couple small areas like in angles and crevices where it didn't go on as thick. Those couple spots u can still see where the rust is fighting it and trying to get through.

I'm guessing since it's a mass production piece that they source their steel from China to keep manufacturing costs down. The cheap Chinese steel, which is still very strong btw, is filled with other metals besides just stainless steel. So despite them being very strong like stainless steel should be, it's the other metals that are mixed in that just don't stand up to the outdoor elements and have a tendency to rust, not only prematurely, but even just in general. Before, during, and after they could and/or should rust.

Go get some of the plugs from autozone and plug it yourself. The new mushroom patches that are applied from inside the tire are better but they won’t fit that close to the sidewall. You can use the old school rubber tube with rubber cement jobbies and save yourself some cash. Plus it only takes 2 minutes to repair.

And yes I am well aware of the fact that the tire manufacturer will tell you that sidewall plugs will cause you’re entire family to die in a fiery wreck but I think they are covering their own asses while bilking you out of your hard earned cash.

So I got the trim back on with the boot. Love the look! I put on carbon fiber wrap but since I could not get the silver surround off I trimmed around and it’s not staying on, which is why I want to take apart and tuck it in between. The wrap is thick and I wonder if heat would get it to flex more? I only have a hair dryer...

Pics of the inside ends where there are round bumps, these are the Hangul and hard to come apart...

I have had my door panels off 3 or 4 times each. Take about 30 seconds and is very easy.

I came from the Chevy issue of cheap plastic interiors and once you started taking interior panels off you always had at least one clip that would break and then the plastic noise issues start.

Yea I was worried about that as well. My previous experience with removing door panels was hondas and Acuras and always broke parts and had rattles. Zero issues with my tundra thus far

So looking at the pic of those knobs in the trim, should I just keep prying on it till it separates? I’d kick myself if it breaks

You can find a mom and pop shop that might patch it off the record with no guarantee. I agree it's fine, but they are cya.

My buddy has patched 2 or 3 on the edge of the tire for me over the years and they were fine. It has to be almost exactly in the middle for them to patch it, it's stupid.

They were sold by a online company called EAG. Found after arrival the brand was Paramount. I have zero complaints on fitment or welding, and both are heavy. I have had issues from day 2 with power coating.

Hey Monet, I think u are talking about the plastic rivets on the back end of the shifter surround. If so, I don't think prying them apart is your best bet. If u are trying to get them to separate you're best bet is melt the round tip off. Then it should just pull through. To put back together u will need some very strong adhesive to replace the melted off round tips. They make a type of adhesive that when it dries it locks in place and will not let go. That is until u apply heat and it easily separates.

Hard to explain, but I think I know what you're looking to do. U will not be able to get that big round tip to pull though that small hole. That's why I'm saying u need to melt those tips off.
