What have you done to your 2nd gen Tundra today?

Awesome. I thought the climate knobs weren't shipping until March. Looks like they were ahead of schedule!

 

Changed out my black allen head screws with red on my AJT custom shifter Climate knobs coming soon.

 

AJT hit the nail on the head with all his offerings, looks great with the red allens

 

@CaptSpaulding thanks. And yes Adam has put out some great product. I have a bunch of his product in and on my truck.

 

Really liking the HVAC Knobs but just not sure about tearing out the dash to change them.

 

@CMB, there is a video on AJT'S website. It doesn't look to bad removing the plastic pieces, it's when you go to remove and replace knobs that attention to detail is needed. I'm gonna try it when I get back from work trip. No need to rush.

I can have my dash apart, starting with the center console, working my way towards the stereo, in about 3 minutes, I can have my stereo removed in about 4 min. Its super easy and theres a great video on youtube, just have these tools, trust me, worth every penny...

I have the same key fob! (but with the TRD logo)

and well you just officially sold me on the climate control knobs.
-do you know if the white line on those light up at night?

 

Threw on Fox front coilovers and rear shocks. Rides so good now.

 

I'm excited for my knobs! I got a tracking number Wednesday but there hasn't been any update other than "label created" so I hope the post office didn't lose it somewhere.

Did you have to take the trim off from around the shifter?

 

Adam,on AJT's website talks about AJT's lighted knobs and getting them lined-up in his installation video.

 

Go to AJT's website and watch Adam's video on installing the knobs. From what I see, we don't need to mess with anything but the HVAC Panel for the changeout.

I put my Dirty Fives back on it today. This weekend I'm going to be out on a muddy ranch, and it's been raining the last several days.

 

That brush/cattle gaurd looks good.

 

It's a Demello Offroad plate bumper.

I would definitely look at one similar if i was needing one.

 

I purchased mine off warmcarnow.com I went through eBay, and waited for with ebay15% off. It's plug and except the alarm wire, which is optional.

 

Added a battery isolator for the camper shell camping setup I'm working on.

After poking around under the hood for a place to mount the relay, and not really finding a place I liked, I found this little spot behind the grill that's out of the way and even has a hole (added a grommet) already there for the wires to run thru. Perfect!

Relay and a bracket I whipped up


All mounted and wired. Relay energizer wire runs to the "cig" circuit under the dash and connects with a "add a fuse" thingy. Ground (blue wire because I didn't have any black) runs to exsisting ground on the drivers side fender. Hot wire will connect to the battery thru a 30 amp fuse (need to get one). Still have to run a hot wire to the bed.


Relay energizer wires run thru the wire loom tucked up under the radiator bracket/ headlight assembly.


Relay energizes when the truck is running and will allow my "house" battery to charge off the alternator. "House" battery is isolated from the main battery circuit when the truck key is in the off position.

 

The whole grille is a 1 off custom made to hold those lights. It’s all 3/16 steel cut on a water jet. Weighs a ton. The four mounting bolts on the front of each light sandwich the grille between the bezel and the light housing. So there isn’t anything to show as far as mounting. There is also no additional structure as the whole thing is waaaay overbuilt. Grille is bolted to grille shell and the grille brackets coming off the hood.

Ive been wanting to do a dual battery isolator/relay setup for a while. Pretty interested in seeing your opinion on the stinger isolator when you have had some time with it.

One thing im curious about, though. The fuse size. It looks like you are using 4 gauge wire so a 30 amp fuse seems way small for that application. Depending on the length of the run that wire size is good for 80-125 amp fuse.
Was the 30 amp fuse what the product recommend? Or is that not 4 gauge wire?

Hey Twinky, that's a #6 wire from the relay to the battery. I actually ordered 2ea 60 amp fuses , instead of 30 amp, and 25 ft of #6 last night to complete the run to the bed.

There won't be much back in the bed, mostly just few LED lights and a couple USB charge ports to charge my phone. Pretty light load.

I built a switch box with a bus that will connect to the second battery. The connection between the bus and battery has a 30 amp fuse. I'll eventually add a couple side lights to the topper roof rack and they'll connect to the same box.

 

The rain finally stopped long enough that was able to install my Clazzio's. No more pulling dog hair out of the stock fabric for me

i found mine (the same exact ones on ebay brand new from someone who gets dealer pricing at $350. then i used a 20% ebay bucks coupon on top of my $50 ebay bucks i redeemed at the time, they were too good to pass up.

still too cold to install them however

 

Do these just go over the stock fabric or do you remove stock and install these? I've looked into catskin but it seems they only sell to dealers now. I'd attempt a DIY with hog ring pliers if I can find a good enough deal.
