Hello... to those of you with the fox 2.5. Can you tell me if your coilover is centered with the spring? I got a BDS 7" and am developing some rash here with my spring rubbing the coilover. This was a fresh install last week from a local shop. I uploaded a few pics. Thanks.

I have the same lift and coilovers, I noticed some rash on the outside of my coils and tie rods from them obviously rubbing at a full lock turn off road but I’ll check the shock in the coil, that’s interesting figured I would have noticed by now if mine were like that

is it just one of the coilovers? definalty not right, seems over compressed or the spring has an issue. i would call the shop that installed them and Fox and see what they say. it defiantly should not be rubbing like that. im no expert but i believe Fox has options for 0-2" and 0-3" coilovers, if you have the 0-2" cranked up to 3" i would think that over compression could do that.

Is it binded from too much preload?

Was the collar adjusted with weight on it. Also, seems that the collar is at the bottom limits of the threads which leads to believe the spring is being over compressed.

    My guess is..

Whoever installed your lift did it wrong. You have a ridiculous amount of preload on your coilovers. It looks like you have regular Fox coilovers and not the extended stem versions to account for the lift's bracket dropping the lower arms 4.5". It's totally fine to use regular coilovers ..BUT -- going back to the install being wrong -- you didn't use the included BDS lift spacers that go to the bottom of the coilover stem.

..I could totally be wrong and I'm making this assumption with the limited photos provided. Take some photos of the suspension from the front with the upper and lower arms within frame.

What does the bottom look like ? At the perch .Just curions is the spring flat on it all the way or is it off of where it should be ? One more thing is the perch flat ? If so maybe It should have had something like this on it if the prong is not flat. I am obviously just guessing here but trying

To clarify what I mean about the extended stem coilovers, here is an older photo of my Icon coilovers on my BDS lift; you'll notice the stem is exaggerated in length roughly the geometrical amount in relation to how the bracket drops the lower arm 4.5".

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BNu3b0fDb0T/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=4dxtry1m2l8v

Edit: There's a little under an inch of preload on my coilovers in the photo. Today, I drive around with zero preload.

On that top pic is your tire on the ground? Your tie rods and axles have a lot of bend going on, yet your shock shaft looks short.

It's the fox 2.5 coilovers with reservoirs. I'm thinking it might be over compressed. It's back in the shop getting worked on

Jesus. Your axles look horrible. That setup is pushed way beyond its limit, and so is your axle and tie rods.

I had that same issue 2 years ago with my 2.5s. I contacted fox and sent them in under warranty. They said I had a bent coil spring which was replaced for free. It happened after the suspension was adjusted by a local 4x4 shop to lower the front(less preload) due to how much lift is gained out of the box. I have no idea what or how it could have happened. Fox did me right though.

Yah... they're on it. Saw a showroom coilover compressed halfway as well and everything was dead on centered. Steering stops and and all the little nick nacks are done post photos

I appreciate it. The coil sits flat top and bottom with a centering flange. @cpc0812 pretty much answered my problem. Must be the spring. Thanks @cpc0812

From what I’m getting from fox 8 threads is 1 inch of lift. That’s a lot of lift lol
