So i have 2017 Tundra and did the 2nd gen NSV Light bar (No Strobe feature) and the install went smooth with no issues except when i drive with the DRL feature on. When im driving down the road with the DRL feature on and i turn on the left turn signal (driver side) the DRL flashes on the left side, But when i turn on the right signal BOTH of the DRL light flashes at the same time. I did not have to use any jumper wires when i installed as my kit came with a OEM plug that went inbtween the light harness behind the battery.

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks
    Doug

Please email Jensen@nsvauto.com with any technical questions. Sounds like you have a wire for drls crimped onto a turn signal.

Did you ever find out the solution to this? I have a similar issue. When I hit the left blinker the driving lights both flash. When I hit the right blinker there’s no light bar action at all

What instructions did you follow? I had the same issue. Ended up “fixing” it but the nsv DRLs are now only on when the lights are on. The instructions for that thing are complete crap when it comes to the jumper portion for 18’s.

I will say it seemed like Jenson was trying his best to help but I only got him on the phone for brief periods as he was apparently in Dubai at a trade show or something.

How did you “fix it”? I used the headlight revolution videos. Those weren’t great because they didn’t cover the 2018. I discovered an update to those videos attached to one of the original 3 on you tube after I was mostly done. I looked at the PDF but thought it was bullshit to hookup the bar to trailer brake controller. Luckily the updated video, while short, had the addition of tapping the cigarette lighter. I figured out the missing #3 vs 8 pin on my own but it would appear that I should have jammed the 8 into the 3 and then been able to have the main light bar come on with the high beams off.

Otherwise I didn’t hook up the jumper to the headlight harness. My driving lights don’t come on unless I hit the switch which I like.

I just don’t like that the both damned driving flash when I hit the left blinker.

So the answer for the 2018-19 platinum and 1794 NSV light bar install issue for when someone looks this up in the future is to clip the blue wire between the two NSV supplied connectors in the section that fits between the factory head light connector and the headlight. Boom fixed!

Additionally if you DO NOT hook up the blue wire you don’t have the DRL’s and you don’t have to T tap into the factory wiring harness for the LED headlamps to act as a dimmer. Now everything operates solely on the switches and they don’t dim so they are full strength.

    Hey all Merry Christmas

So I installed the nsv laight bar last night. Made final connection today. Double checked everything was installed correctly. I did use the patch harness as the directions showed. I did cut the blue wire as directed however, I now do not have operational DRL’s up front or my rear tail running lights and license plate light do not work at all. Im really frustrated and any help would be appreciated. I will be removing this set up completely until I can find out why my DRL’s don’t work or tail lights.

I would double check and make sure you didn’t blow a fuse before removing everything.

Good call. I did. 10A tail light fuse
I think it may be the recall for parking light wiring. I didn’t think to verify the patch harness was wired correctly. Crossing my fingers of course.
