Yup they did the same thing with my TRD duel exhaust. All over the chrome tips. You think they would cover stuff like that up.

Sounds like it’s the equivalent to smearing Henry’s roofing tar all over everything. Doesn’t seem like any undercoating could be installed properly without complete disassembly of the truck. I think I would just go for something along the fluid film line or equivalent.

    Hmmm. Let's recap.
    1. Tundra owner had a great idea.
    2. Went to a Toyota dealer for implementation of said great idea.
    3. Toyota dealer shits the bed on simple process. Damaging if not semi-ruining customers Tundra.
    4. Toyota dealer can't understand customer dissatisfaction.

Add this one to the HEAP of dealer horror stories.

To the OP, sucks Brudder. Sucks. Please don't take your Tundra to them for the FREE oil change.

You would think they would go over the details with you...but no..Fucking HACKS EVERYWHERE!

I just wash under my truck with a pressure washer attachment on wheels that has 4 jets that spray up underneath the truck. I wash it after every snow/salt cycle.

It will eventually dry to a waxy tar type coat. Right now its probably like an oily liquid tar gel.

Reason I know is back in fall 2018 I took the 02’ in for ‘inspection of rust’ due to the rust recall from years ago I never had performed. I get a message on the phone saying they are finished with the undercoating. I just wanted an inspection, not the spray job, as there is no rust problem.

It took about 2-3 months for the liquid oil tar to eventually turn to a waxy tar coat. BTW, the spray guy did an emaculate job on the 02’. He must have had some special template shields for some of these tight areas for him to have done such a fine job. Very precise. Top notch.

I didn’t make a stink, but would have if it was a mess.

Man thats B.S. when I had mine done I told them you get anything on my truck other then the frame you will be fixing it .They had my truck for 2 weeks after that statement .Because they covered EVERYTING. Took them 2 days to prep "they said" but they did do a good job but I didn't even take it back in this weather snow .For another week they had to let it sit in their heated shop for 3 days then pulled it out. The manager said wish we would have replaced the frame at this point .But of course toyota wouldn't let them because mine was surface rust.

They better .Honestly sense it was just done I wonder of they can just power wash it all off and start over. I know the consistency is loke oil though so not sure how that would work out .May just make a bigger mess .

I looked at a number of Tundras up here that had it done. It seams like it was all over the place as to how well it was done. Some dealers put it on nice and even and only covered the rusty stuff like the frame and axle. Others just gobbed it on. You could see sags where they got it so think that it was running down. I'm not sure if it was because they were trying to hide stuff like scale or if they just didn't care. My solution was to just buy a southern truck that has no rust or spray on it.
