What bed liner should I get?

Does anyone have any experience with Line-x spray in liners? I need to get something as my truck has no bed liner at all and that just won't due. I have a 6.5 foot bed so if you remember what you paid I wouldn't mind knowing. I'm willing to hear other recommendations as well.

 

Paid around $400-450 on my 2nd gen for rhino liner and it held up pretty good, but I have heard linex is the better option.

My 3rd gen has factory spray in which is better than plastic but doesnt have much traction.

 

I think I paid $499 for the dealer to spray it.I have a Crewmax shortbed. They marked it up but it was rolled in the loan so it worked out for me.

 

Only thing is I have never seen someone spray their own and have it look good. Maybe you got the skill for it but be careful. Iv seen some bad jobs.

 

I think I paid a little under $850 for my 6.5' bed. But that's in the Bay Area, everything costs more here. And that was without the UV protection. A few other places quoted even higher. But Line-x is pretty awesome. Just make sure they don't spray over your holes. My guy used golf tees to plug the holes before spraying incase I ever got a bed rail system.

 

Thanks for quick replies gentlemen! I was wondering if it was going to be somewhere in the $800 ball park... I was afraid of that. I live just South of DC so everything here is super expensive too. I feel your pain. And I would absolutly make sure they did not spray over my rail holes, I plan on getting a rail system shortly.

 

They should give you a discount because you already sanded the bed for them.

 

Line x (UV protection and color-matched). Awesome product!

 

Line x- harder but slippery
Rhino line- little softer but grippy as hell!
I find the rhino line cleans easy too.

 

I as well have been looking at a spray in bed liner and got quoted for my 5.5ft bed @$450 but basic package with no UV protection from Line-X.

Got quoted 550 for rhino original soft liner and 450 for the new rhino "hard" liner. Think I'll save the $100 and
get the harder product.

 

Bring cash. I got a better deal at line-x 50 off and no tax.

No idea but it may be too hard, my factory liner chipped in a couple places to the metal. Got some rustoleum bed liner and put a few coats over the chips to prevent rust. No way I'm shelling out a few hundred (or more for removal) for a couple chips. Like my paw paw always said, a few scars never hurt anybody. LOL

 

I've got the Line-X done and it cost me about $450 CDN to do. I will be laying a bed mat over top as well soon, just for some non-slip, but I love the toughness of the spray. 5'5 Crewmax short bed.

I have the factory spray liner and the tundra rubber bed mat over that.

 

I have the line X and the Gator Trax with no issues.

 

Dude, did you do the bed lights yourself? DIY write up?

 

They are supplied by a member over on TacomaWorld They are mostly designed for Tacoma's I believe he does but has made a couple Tundra ones, or at least this one for me. I've had them on my previous Taco, LOVED the lights and needed them again. He includes awesome easy to follow instructions.

Matt is a super cool dude to deal with as well. I think total I've got about 3-4 bed light kits from him, for people I know. Everyone loves his stuff. I recommend including the remote as it provides you more range in your lighting. (dimming, flash, strobe, on/off wireless)

 

I went with Line-X... Twice... My first one was held up well... No problem and the truck was 10 years old when I got my 2014 Tundra. When I told the guy I was a return customer... He gave me a discount. When I started laying out cash on his s counter... He gave me even more cash off!! AND prep and attention to detail with application goes a long way. .... ( BTW cool bed lights Krezz!)

 

Cash means they can do the work under the table, which means discounts.

 

Get the bells and whistles huh? If the price is right, I won't say no!

Line X is great. We used to have a line x dealer here in town that was always busy but he closed shop a few years back. I had several dodges with line x and it always held up great. My last 3 tundras have had a factory spray in liner and I have had no problems.

 

I paid 1/2 price for factory drop on liner but it hasn't shown up yet and I'm getting impatient. I don't want to haul anything or throw anything loose in the back before I have some protection

It's a 2019 Tundra Crewmax ShortBox.

I contacted my sales rep and was told they could do spray in for about the same and put a few bucks towards parts/service in the future

My next question to him is who does it, Toyota in house or sourced out to Rhino or LineX.

My question for you guys: Should I opt for spray in by Toyota no matter who they get to do it and if it's only 3y warranty like the rest of the truck? Any other questions or details I should ask my dealer?
