Just got my truck back from getting new wheels tires mounted and balanced, and alignment. I have the Toytech Boss 3 inch kit. I'm no expert with the numbers but my truck pulls to the right, and there is a wobble in the steering wheel around 50-55 mph that goes away once I speed up. Makes we wonder whats responsible, unbalanced wheel? or poor alignment. Sucks that this is putting a damper on what should be an otherwise exciting time with all the new stuff on my truck. Can anyone help me determine if the alignment numbers would cause my issues?

Your caster is way out of spec and causing the pull. Needs to be closer to 2.6-3. And camber should be closest to 0 and def not positive on one side and Negative on the other. Find a better shop.

Damn nice to see someone that knows what they are taking about.

To the Op. An alignment will not cause a vibration. Especially at only a certain speed and then go away! Only moving parts can do that. Your tires are out of balance, or bad. Yes new tires can be defective, it’s called radial pull.
You need to find a new shop as they screwed up in both areas. What kind of shop would do all of this work and not take your truck for a drive prior to letting you take it.? Pitiful!

Yeah its pretty sad. I took it 2 mins from the shop and instantly noticed the vibration and pull. Pretty pissed off right now. Wonder if I take it back and make them fix it, or if I try and get a refund and go somewhere else.

Sooooo I just went out to the parking lot to see if the cam bolts were maxed out or anything, and I don't see a single wheel weight on any of the wheels. Unless technology took some giant leap I'm guessing they didn't even balance the wheels. Am I missing something?

Had similar problem in the past with my 4runner... ended up being a balancing issue more than anything.. around 60 mph

A little of this and a little of that.
Yeah, your wheels are out of balance. Get them balanced properly, as long as they aren't bad tires, and you won't have shake. The pull is from your Alignment. I'd give the shop one more chance to fix it for free before asking for your money back and going somewhere else to have it balanced.

Just Stopped by the shop and let them know about the vibration and pull to the right. I said I didn't see any wheel weights and apparently they balanced them with beads. This is something I've never heard of. Anyone have any experience with balancing beads? Of course they didn't have time today so I'll be taking it in first thing tomorrow for them to start by RE checking the alignment. I passed over the spec sheet and asked about the caster being out of spec and he didn't say anything. Just that they will look at it tomorrow. The whole bead balance thing baffled me for sure. Guess I'm getting old...

Hmmm, I did a 3.5 in ROUGH COUNTRY lift and aligned without any issue. It came with new UCA.

I have heard of the beads...personally not a fan of them. See if they will remove them and just use weights.

    Hmm. Well.
    Camber is wrong.
    Caster is wrong.
    Toe is wrong.

Caster should be 3 - 4.5 on a 3-3.5" lift. Way way to low. You must have bump steer bad.

Welp turns out rough country says factory alingment spec is fine as long as you're able to get back to it as their specs are also matching factory spec. My alignment shop also confirmed this.

Does it pull at all due to the uneven caster/camber numbers for each side?

Toyota’s factory specs have far too much allowance. Based on your numbers you do not have a proper alignment. Camber should be closer to 0 and at least the same on both sides. Caster should be higher on right then left. Total toe should be no more than 0.15.

Nope everything is straight as an arrow. The only to number of consequence for tire wear are camber and toes. Get it as close to factory as you can and you'll be fine. There's variation for non factory offset wheels but I'm running stock wheels.

Well, the numbers are so wonky that you have cross-caster pull in one direction and cross-camber drift mixed with un-even toe in the other - so apparently, by some miracle they are all cancelling each other out and sending you straight down the road...
