Hunting roll call...where is everyone going this year and what animals are you going for?

I'll start...Starting my season off in North Carolina for velvet whitetail, then Ohio, Indiana and Michigan for whitetail, Nebraska for mule deer and finally Kansas for whitetail.

Late December through early January where I'm at but its kind of weird here in FL because you can drive 50-75 miles away and the rut is completely different. Pretty consistent in my location though. Last year was a weird year due to the inconsistent weather.

Nice. Yeah, we have different rut times here as well. Around the house here its late September - early November. 50 miles and 5000 feet higher its November - January. The only time we can hunt the rut is typically with a draw tag. In fact, our deer season where I'm at opened the second week in July.

They still take some good pigs out of there but its gone down due to over hunting. People hear about a place and swarm there. Still, there's a lot good ranches with abundant pigs in Sonoma, Lake, and Mendocino counties.

I just happened to remember that a friend of mine used to go down from Oregon to Santa Rosa for the boars. 1975 ish. Not too surprised that a lot of folks are over hunting that area now. Good reason to get a good lift to get out even further into the sticks and then walk/camp.

Best way. Take horses. Pack it in to the middle of nowhere. [IMG] I'm dreaming now. I know what to do, it's that money thing. I'm 60. I need to meet a 90 year old "cougar" babe.

A little town called Greenwood which is between Marianna and Malone (about an hour Northwest of Tallahassee).

Have been through Perry many times, some nice land out that way!

Totally get the money thing. We typically go in on foot or fly into a wilderness area and get dropped off, hunting out of our packs for about 10 days. Occasionally we've called a packer in to bring out meat, but mostly just pack it all back to the airstrip.
