Hey I have a 2001 tundra 4.7 it’s 100% stock. I was wondering if anyone has done an electric fan swap and if it was worth it and what the benefits and drawbacks were and where I can get some electric fans for a tundra. I’ve noticed my fan clutch doesn’t seem to engage most of the time and this will be the second one that I’ve had to replace and it hasn’t even been 30k miles since I’ve changed it. If that’s what I’m going to have to deal with it seems worth it to switch to electric fans and call it a day. Plus if it were to lower fuel consumption just a little that would be a nice bonus too.

Seems to me it might be best to figure out why you are having your current fan problems and fix that first. Your original fan should suffice as long as its working proper.

yep bank account is running low from it..
I have electric fans on my Tacoma they are ok. You do need to put a scan gauge in with alarm in case the electronics takes a dump you can run manual.. also puts strain on battery and alternator. As for saving fuel not enough to save on the investment.

Honestly sounds like you went aftermarket fan clutch.. replace it with a oem and stay that way..

It was an aftermarket fan clutch from autozone (not the brightest idea in hindsight) The fuel savings weren’t a big deal to me honestly I just figured if I were to get any that would definitely be nice.
