I'd like to see what kind of gun racks you use in your Tundras.

Bought this a few years ago at Cabelas. They call it a Hunters Tackleback.

It's been a pretty good little holder, especially for $18.

People would lose their minds if we ran around with a gun in a rack here in Connecticut.

Oh there are parts of Colorado where that's the case. Fortunately I live in the non-retarded part of the state.

unfortunately that part of CT doesn't exist. If my shirt lifts at the grocery store and someone thinks they maybe, might have, possibly, perhaps, conceivably seen a gun they call the cops.

I live out in the middle of nowhere here in Missouri and it is very common to have guns in your truck.

There's some Rural areas here where people still ride around with the old school back window rack.

If you have a DC, the Du-Ha underseat storage w/ gun racks works pretty good.

Not quite a rack but this is my in bed "tool box". Holds three shotguns in padded cases.

In Maine you didn't need a gun rack just put it beside you with ammo on the center console and open carry was almost mandatory.

It is bolted in. I removed the bed track and bolted it across the top with the bed track bolts, they were plenty long enough. At the tailgate bottom I drilled and through bolted. It is easy to get to the back side from underneath. The front bottom I was going to bolt using the bed tie down hole but it did not quite work out. So far I am not missing the front bolt.

Mike, I have a DC and I looked at the Du-Ha. I might invest in one of those later. I like the fact that they are out of sight.

Anybody have any racks that go overhead?

    If so, pics, and manufacturer?

    Very nice gun rack.

I'm also curious how you mounted your Hi-Lift.

I never thought to mount it where you have yours.

I looked at some mounts on the internet, but it is a bit overwhelming.

What type of mounts did you use?

    Thanks.

I used T-slot nuts in the bed track, eye bolts and washers. My build thread link in my signature has some other pictures. If you can't see what you need, I can take a few more pictures next week.

It's DIY in that I designed it, had a fabricator make it, painted it with rattle can touch up paint and mounted it. I actually had it made for the Nissan Titan I had before this truck and had it modified a little to fit this one. It could have been a little taller for the Tundra but I don't know that height will make any difference for shotguns or number of shotguns.

Something I forgot to mention is that my box is carrying some of the jack weight. Not sure if it makes any difference, just thought I would mention it.

I made this rifle caddy for when I go to central Oregon sage rat hunting. It holds 6 rifles, and sits high enough to lay several underneath. I may have a problem!
