Tell me what you think. My dad has a '14 DC 4.6 4X4 with 158,690 on the clock. He puts on a ton of miles driving for DAV running vets to their VA appointments. Anyway, last week his CEL came on. Loosened his gas cap and put it back on and 100+ miles later the CEL went out and has stayed out. The truck ran fine the entire time, no stuttering, no drop in mileage, no limp mode. Today he stopped by my shop and I put my scanner on the truck. The stored code was P2443, Secondary Air Injection Bank 2 Valve Stuck Closed.
When his CEL came on he was returning from Milwaukee in a pretty heavy snow storm and his wheel wells and grill were packed solid with snow and ice. Is it possible that he just got a little water intrusion that caused a glitch in the system? Or do you think he's in for more AIP problems? I'm not aware of the AIP issues with the third gens.

There are kits for by Camburg and SDHQ for 3rd gen AIP relocation. I made my own. In the AIP "plumbing" there's a molded tube. I've seen pictures of it with dirt/sand in it. This is and getting the intake higher/ more protected in the engine bay iswhat caused me to make a relocate kit.

Thanks Warren. I'm gonna have to find a schematic for the AIP system and tear it apart and make sure it's not packed with crap.

It's right under the passenger side fender liner toward the front. If you pop the liner out it's clearly visible. BTW, I quit struggling with the plastic clips that retain the liner, I just cut 'em and install new ones now, super cheap on Amazon.
