What do yall think about the entune for the radio? I just got a new 2019 tundra and they was telling me I can download the entune app for it to link up with my phone. But it already is connected with my phone via bluetooth.

yea, for sure. You will need to download the entune app if you wanna use the apps that come with the radio. I personally don't use the apps. I stream via bluetooth with the music that comes with Amazon.

My Amazon music app opens automatically and then can be controlled by the deck. I'm guessing here but as long as you don't close the app/window on your phone It should be automatic as well.

Entune sucks more than a $5 street hooker on thirsty Thursday’s.

Only thing I ever used the Entune app for was looking up destinations so they'd be available in the Previous Destinations app on the head unit. Everything else sucks balls. If you want real smart phone integration, a few hundred bucks will get you a good aftermarket unit.

I have the entune plus in my 2016. It has connected without issues. You download the “scout” app for navigation and connect through toyota. I have had no issues with Bluetooth connection, phone use, volume is great, like others have complained. Knock on wood! The scout navigation on this entune head is terrible. Useless and unreliable, really. It would have been great if the unit just casted the scout screen to the truck. But no! If you want good Nav. This is not the way to go, without the maps.

They removed Pandora in the latest update and Amazon is not an app that is in Entune. All the App does is allow you more control of the apps through the head unit vs using your phone

The radio in my truck is not impressive. Not loud enough and the navigation is horrible. I will probably be changing it out someday. Not sure what to get though. I want it louder, better sounding, and a real navigation.

Agreed. Very dissapointed in the stereo on my new Tundra. Entune is no good and no apple carplay. Has anyone heard an explaination from Toyota on this? Are they just ignoring and hoping us loyal Toyota fans stay loyal. I guess thats true for me. On my third Tundra...

Probably good enough for the average joe.

What is a good power rating?
Does every head unit need an amp??
What is the average price on a head unit???
The steering wheel control cable option is pricey.

I have seen a couple of custom options for new head units.
Alpine Halo9 iLX-F309TND and a few Android tesla style stereos out there. Price range from $500-$1400. The Alpine is on the upper end. Most head unites do not require a external amp but I added one on my last Tundra and it helped get the most out of the speakers.

Just purchased a 2016 Tundra Crewmax and I'm trying to figure it all out..
Did any of you have any problem connecting to Entune? I've tried a bunch of different ways to enter the vin and it says Error "Please ensure you have entered the VIN correctly and your vehicle is Entune or Enform App Suite capable."
I was able to download and connect the Scout App and connect my phone to stream music.

So Toyota says I do not have the Entune App Suite so I can't use the apps they have. Doesn't seem like a big loss since everything plays through the phone.
there is a download for my stereo but I can't seem to get that to take. I'm guessing like the start up and shut down screen a special file needs to be created on my flash drive. Any suggestions?
