What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Had some downtime at the deer lease this weekend. Instyalled the route 66 black bolts for the fenders.

 

I agree, that's why I ended up going this route to better match.


And I'm selling the shifter so someone else can benefit from my loss

I installed the large Model T emblem from Diaz Fabrications a couple weeks ago. Just got the smaller one on the right to see which would be better. I think go big or go home!

 

Since I replaced my hood bulge I had to get it artic coated to match the rest of my truck. Also had the place APC auto polishing center in waldwick touch up a couple scratches from my service center and apply more artic coating to those areas. I can now say my truck almost looks perfect again. Very happy with how it all turned out and can't beat the fact they did all this without charging me. I felt obligated to give the guys there something so I gave them a nice tip to disperse. Plus in a few more days I'll be taking my new rims to them to be artic coated too.

 

Wash that baby! I want to see how good those flares and wheels look because that's exactly what I'm going to do.

 

I installed my Led headlights today in my 2015 Tundra before and after
The stock light has a yellow light and the new light is white light and a lot brighter
Next project is LED fog lights

Don't mind the blood blister on my finger, kinda comes with the job. Such a small inexpensive part, but an intricate piece of the puzzle I'm putting together.

Thank you @RelentlessFabrication for the fast delivery on the body mount chop plates. It's now the 2nd part I've acquired, 1st being the tires. Having 2 of the 4 parts I need, I'm now officially half way to acquiring all I need for my next big upgrade.

The new methods will be here very soon. I'm even going to take a day off work to make sure I get them before they grow legs and take them immediately over to be artic coated.

After that, it's down to 1 more part, Dave's @Coachbuilder1 4 supplied bumper shims with the upgraded hardware. Hopefully working with him on this will allow others to also benefit. Hopefully with the hardware we can get use out of all 4 shims getting the full benefit of an extra half inch pushed forward bumper clearance when running larger tires. If you just have a stock bumper you can use his regular supplied hardware. If you have an aftermarket bumper, many come with adding clearance to allow the space needed to run bigger tires. For those of us with the Southern Style bumper and perhaps some other aftermarket bumpers, which are a combo of aftermarket and stock bumper, Dave and I are hoping by upgrading to skinnier but more hardened washers and nuts, that it will allow people like myself and others to use his bumper shims when an aftermarket bumper doesn't provide clearance gains for larger tires. That is, if you are like me and want to run bigger tires without needing to cut the shit out the wheel wells and bumper ends.

Well just like being 1 of the first to put on a Tundra the SSO bumper, guess I'm the Guinea pig again. Soon as I get the shims the truck goes under the knife.

 

Tnx Ron, I appreciate that. It's either going to be great like you said, and what I'm hoping for. Or it's going to be an epic disaster, where I waste a whole bunch of time, money, and effort. Only to have to start back at square 1 and waste more of all 3 again.

 

How was the difficulty of the idatalink install?

 

Not hard at all. Idatalink wrb site programs it off of the options you pick for your truck and what head unit you bought. Let it program and plug it in. Good to go.

 

It requires windows OS correct? Can’t do it from my iPhone?

I did stick with the stock suspension, but I had a TRD sport and it already came with Bilsteins.

 

Washed off some mud and rain x’d the glass to prepare for more rain and mud

TRD pro grill and hood bulge, Tow Mirrors, and plasti dipped the front and rear bumper end caps. Also installed the TRD pro intake and driver side grab handle. Busy mod day.

 

Sweet wireless charger mod. My phone fits perfectly in that spot.

 

Wish they made that for the 2018. Looks awesome!

 

Drove round trip from Vegas to El Cajon today to pick up some new-to-me suspension. Kings 2.5 w/resi's front and rear. Will go on the truck this coming Tuesday. So excited to get rid of this spacer lift I've got.

Yes.. that new shifter setup works well with the current theme... i hadnt caught up with the rest of this thread to see how you went a different route.

 

hands down one of the best mods for the money... just remember to not place keys and other metal objects on the armrest when not in use.

What happens if you do this?

 

depending on the quality of the charger it may not know to not charge so you could potentially fry it. the charger I used has the ability to detect and shut off charging

 

I got ny car seat panel from another company at much more of an affordable price than one Tigris. Perfect fit didn’t require any cutting or modification. Below is the set up i have so far..adding more as I go. (Clip is for pic purposes everything is removed when not in vehicle.)
