A while back I took some TSS wheel and powder coated them bronze. However, I dont like how the center caps looks on them. For a while I have been rolling with no center caps and I like the look.

But I get crap about how ghetto it looks with no centers from my buddies. After extensive research, there is no other center cap fits these wheels. I decided to make/modify my own.

Let me know your thoughts. Ii bought and modified one. I have the other 3 coming in as Inwasnt even sure it was possible. A dremel, cuttting wheel, hot glue gun and some creative thinking, it turn out well.

Let me know your thoughts and interested ina write up.

I will paint the caliper black to match the center cap. And so you dont have too many colors going on - bronze wheels, black center cap, red TRD logo and silver calipers.

You might want to get some black lug nuts too.

I think a TRD Sport center cap will work with no cutting.
What about the original cap and paint the "screw heads" black?
Black covers for the lug nuts.

If you are talking about the wheels that look like Platinum wheels, those center caps wont work. I have my original set of platinums.

Im not worries about the lug nuts right now. Just focused on if I want to run a center cap not. I think the original TSS center cap is fugly and messes with the concave look of the new TSS wheels sticking out so far like a dome center cap.

Yes, those are the same caps as Platinum wheels. They wont fir without trimming and relocating the fastening tabs.

@Donkeypunch those custom caps look badass, I say run with them!
I agree, the standard TSS caps looked out of place.

any updates on this mod? Really want to change out the TSS center caps, but don't want to glue anything as the primary attachment method.

The cap on the left is from the TRD SPORT wheel and the cap on the right is from the TRD OFF ROAD. I just switched emblems.
Not sure if TRD Sport caps will fit TSS wheels.

FYI with my deal with rims last week I did find out which I didn’t know that the center caps with the hat and Toyota emblem is Toyota OEM, the Crown looking emblem on center caps is on non Toyota or aftermarket rims. Thought I would put that out there, that was what I was told at the parts counter.

The crown looking cap that you are talking about is part of the TSS package that the Gulf State dealers add. I believe that those rims are made by Ultra. Maybe 1 of there caps will fit?

The chrome TSS wheels are......Ultra Grinders

They are very similar to the TSS wheels. Maybe you can get caps from Ultra.

@Donkeypunch do you have a close up pic of wheel with no cap on?

I have the rockstar wheels from a xp package but was looking for a different center cap as well. Thinking I might be able to modify a trd cap as well to work.

Another FTI, I ordered new BLACK center caps. They were not cheap! So unless you have a supply of center caps it could cost money??:)

I have a 2019 with the 20inch TSS wheels and I was able to keep them ... running bfg 35x12.5 with a 6in pro Comp . No BMC .. just a little wheel well trim and front bumber trim .
I am using 2inch G2’s hud centric wheel spacer ..

Just an idea .. it would take a lot of patience.. maybe mask off the center cap .. cut around the “Red” TrD and spray it with a bronze color spray paint .. Black Lugs .. and maybe later one Powder coat your caliber the same bronze

I have decided to just run without center caps and did the dust cap mod in the back. I personally like the black dust cap look. I might invest on a billet aluminum cap custom machined to fit snuggly on the center bore opening of the wheel and have that powder coated bronze or even keep black.

My truck is a 4x4 so it has the front axle nut dust cap in front. So I mimic the rear with the same dust cap p/n even though there is no axle nut.

That's the best look. Stick with the dust caps. I love that bronze too, good work.

You are putting way too much thought into your slow white Tundra ;). Just kidding of course. Wheels looks great man. You do you. You like em, who cares what anyone else thinks.

Would love to know which caps you got to fit and how? You said they looked to 'domey' (stuck out from the wheel too much)? Got any profile photos showing that?

What is the dust cap mod and what is the part number? Do you have a close up picture of the dust caps. I have Ultra wheels that I am interested in doing that. I don't like any dust caps that stick out. I don't know why wheel companies feel the need to make such large dust caps.
