Fender flare recommendations?

looking for affordable, quality fender flares

 

Are you sure you want fender flares? I've heard they damage the paint around the wheel well. Don't know how much truth there is to that. I like the bushwackers personally...

 

My truck is black and hard to keep clean as it is and my tires like to throw dirt up on the sides that’s the only reason I need them.

 

Yes I am literally going to put gasoline on my flares this spring when I take them off and have my fenders pain fixed. I will never ever again get them. I’m terrified of what the cost will be to fix paint. Not worth it.

 

I've put the Toyoto color matched OEM ones on both my trucks.

The bushwacker ones do mark the paint. I have been looking at the fit on the Toyota ones and they do fit better which makes it harder for dirt to get behind the seal strip.

Once I get my leveling kit installed I may go with the Toy ones. I would suggest adding some protective film underneath the flares if you go with the bushwacker.

Any flares will scratch up the paint under them. One thing we have done at our shop is to first mount the flares on the truck and with an oil pen trace around the edge of the flares. Then remove the flares and use a roll of clear 3M rock guard tape and put on under pen line where the seal will rub. Then reinstall flares.Even if the tape sticks out past seal a little it is hardly noticeable.

 

I love my Bushwhackers . Bought used on CL for a bill and color matched for two more bills. I get a lot of compliments on my truck. Good luck with your choice. Peace. D

THIS! Seeing your avatar, slush and salt on the road does no justice either...I'm personally going to be going with AirDesign shortly because of this very reason. Seconds after washing it's already dirty because of the sling. Crazy.
