Leveling Kit install ... finally!

This is my "new to me" CM. Over the weekend myself and a couple of buddies installed my leveling kit. I am a carpenter by trade and was extremely nervous to try this. I have no real mechanical skills to speak of. The kit went in with relatively no problems. However, I do need to make sure I've got some of the connections back to there torque specs. I'm really happy with the way it turned out and am currently waiting on my 275/65/20's to arrive tomorrow.

Thanks to everyone for their words of encouragement and advice. I don't think I would have tried this without them!

Thanks! Right now just bigger shoes. I've been down the whole lifted/mudders road in the past with my F350 CC .. now I have kids in sports and an infant so I'm more of a street queen/soccer mom these days lol ... probably just little enhancements .. LED's in the bed, and other small things like that.

 

I'll be honest, I waffled back and forth. There is so many different options about so many different lifts it got confusing and frustrating for me. I have a friend who works for Bilstein so cost wasn't even an issue. In the end I just made a choice and stuck with it. It's the Rough Country 3/1.5 .. It rides great. Not as great as stock. I don't know how anyone can say that when you are stretching a shock, but it still rides great. I've compensated by keeping the air in the tires to factory specs. I'm getting new tires and spacers installed tomorrow, followed by an alignment so I'll have a better feel of handling and ride after that.

I hear you, brother. I went the same route! I needed the functionality of a truck over form and still as happy as can be!

 

I hear ya...I put the Billy's 5100 on my '12 Taco, set at 1.75" to level it out..Looks great BUT it is ROUGH...This time around I might just do a 2" spacer to level the front out and call it a day since my kids and wife can't get in the truck now so anything higher would be bed..It's very much the same thing as the Billy's by compressing the stock shock...Is it NOT?
