windshield washer hose cut

    so on the way to work this morning..no water comes out..I checked on the parking lot and the hose is cut multiple times. Looks to be eaten. Might be a rat or squirrel as I park under trees and we have a lot of them....now I gotta replace the hose. any links ? I doubt it is covered under Toyota warranty...

    Get a new hose that has reinforcement around it. Dont have any info though, sorry.
    Sucks that something is getting up in there.

    yes it looks to be a small critter b/c it tried to access the water inside the hose at multiple locations..looks to be small teeth...and the hose portion that goes to the wipers is cut so gotta replace the whole hose..No clue how it got inside...

    yep bank account is running low from it..
    Use silicone hoses.. I believe they don't like the smell of the silicone.

    cool. thx. I ordered peppermint oil too. couple drops in the engine bay to scare off any potential rodents..

    also ordered 2 hoses connectors since the tube is cut before the firewall and chew from the windshield water tank. Will save me time by splicing.

    somewhere I saw that some folks use Peppermint oil to defray the critters under from going under the hood.

    yes. I'll be spraying some in the engine bay (couple drops here and there). we shall see if that works.
