Once you get the top clips out just work your way down one side and then the other. Once they start popping out its pretty easy.

    Here was today's projects.

Got the KO2s on, along with some LED fog lights. Rigid mounting brackets with Speed Demon BlackOps lights.
Also placed in an LED bed light system. mattgecko from over on TacomaWorld supplied them for me.

I understand your reluctance to just go crazy on it. I would advise not to pull harder, but instead peel back the top after you have removed the 2 clips and 4 screws and look down behind on either side. The colored body piece that sits just below your headlight has two holes in it that tabs from the grill push into. If you look down behind the grille as you have the front peeled back you will see them. The tabs are notched so that they press up into those holes - I found that if you put your hand inside the front of the grill as close as you can to that tab/notch, and push down with that hand while pulling outward with the other it's very easy to separate the grill. I've had mine off probably 10 times now and was bragging to my wife how I can now strip the headlight assemblies in about 10 minutes.

Pulling harder will also work, but I feel you run the risk of damaging not only the tabs on the grille, but possibly that painted body moulding as well. Good luck!

I had the same issue. Look inside the hood at the top of the headlight assembly and you will see where it rubs against the body of the vehicle. Remove 2mm of plastic or grind the cross bar a little to resolve.

It's a Thule 480, or at least it looks that way. It's a completely removeable rack.

I have a Rhino Rack installed with tracks. Was about $900 for mine, installed with lifetime warranty.

Awesome! I've been looking for a roof mountable rod holder - how do you like yours? Pros and cons? Do you ever end up with dead bugs on your reels? This is honestly my biggest worry..

No complaints at all- I highly recommend the Rack A Rod system made by Hal out of NY. No bugs on the reels so far but I do get them on the crossbars. I had them on for the whole season and my main concern was rocks chipping at my reels but that has never happened (knock on wood) and I drive 80 miles round trip to the Cape Cod Canal.

You need the 480(any submodel but R are the best) and the fit kit for your year and model of vehicle. You also need bars (58" - 60"), and locks.
