I have read some previous threads regarding this. I had the stock filter in and noticed a slight whistling noise mostly around 2k rpms. So I read some reviews and went with a K&N and it is now much more prevalent. Just wondering if there are any tricks to getting rid of the whistling. Are the AeM’s any better?

Replace the screen in the throttle body gasket to the gasket without the screen. Don’t recall part #, but it’s only like $10.

Mine does this as well. Very annoying. There are some videos on youtube for replacing the gasket. I've been too lazy to do it.

Thanks. I will give this a shot. Just did a 250 trip and it was constant.

No whistling with stock, very noticeable with K&N in my case... So I'm sticking with stock

A little of this and a little of that.
Cory, my K&N does the same thing. I kinda like it...reminds me of a turbo. On my truck it’s kinda hard to hear over the exhaust and light bar whistle though. Ive thought about going back to stock air box just too many other things on the list to mess with right now.

Let us know how gasket swap goes. Sounds like we have the exact same issue

Same issue here...stock air intake and get the annoying high pitched whistle/whine when pushing the accelerator at certain RPMs. Just ordered the part on Amazon. Will report back after I install it next weekend.

For those who have swapped out gaskets:
Is there a noticable difference in materials between the two (i.e. plastic vs. Rubber)?
Trying to understand why the screen in the stock gasket would cause a whistle. Does the the replacement (no screen) gasket somehow creates a better seal? Regardless, I'm glad to hear there is a fix!

Im up next. Then I just have to find the rattle in my dash and figure out why when I brake it pops and I'll be good to go!

It’s the mesh that causes the problem, the air squeals by. That’s why taking the stock gasket, and cutting the mesh out works.

This part should fit a 2019 no problem right? I’m assuming there hasn’t been any changes to the engines. I did the cheap way but cutting the screen out but I still hear a slight whistle, probably from the legs that are still there so wanted to get this. Thanks!
