    Sad cat.

I would guess it could be intake noise. There's a screen near the throttle body that can make a whistling/whining sound. I think the dealer is going to roll their eyes and call it normal.

Yeah I had it in the dealer over the summer of the whining sound. Took over 2 months of visits for them to finally hear it and open a case with Toyota. Turns out my tech was older and technically couldn't hear the high pitched noise due to natural hearing loss.

What was the result of the case? Or what's the progress to date?

ZERO! Just something I have to deal with. Since this noise is different/new I was going to take it back in. I don't mind playing that game. It's up to the dealer to make me happy if they want to be considered if we buy a Toyota for my wife.

Terrible speakers on computer at work so I think I can hear the whistle your talking about. I put a AFE CAI on my 2013 and as soon as I did I got this whistle noise. I found that there is a screen on the throttle body that can be changed out to one without the screen. It is a dealer part and takes like 5 mins to swap and was only like $5. I changed mine and noise went away.

I do not, sorry, but I’m almost certain I found that info on this site somewhere.
