Got really funny looks when I was at a gas station washing just the windshield. Hey it's the first danger run after 4 months of sitting, I drove a mile with my head out the window to get gas and figured I'd put the washer to use.
    20190208_175524.jpg

Once I get a bit of daylight I'm gonna crawl under there and adjust tie rods on both sides to get my steering wheel centered. I'm bettering 2 full rotations per side will get me there. It has a very slight pull to the right but that could be the lack of caster and fubar camber. Then I'm gonna inflate the tires, change the oil, put the skidplate back on and drive it. I have half a case of oil filters arriving Sunday so I will be busy next week.

Never heard of basement cat. If ceiling cat watches you masturbate, does basement cat watch you poop?

Day two of injector upgrade. Truck is still performing nicely as reported on day one. Noticing some subtleties with more drive time today.

I can feel downshifts when slowing down in speed now (foot off gas pedal/no braking) where before there were none. Slight, but it wasn’t there before. Almost like driving stick and you downshift when your speed decreases so you are in the proper gear before you need to throttle it.

The opposite happens, as stated yesterday, when in OD and stomping to pass the instant downshift into 3rd gives more instantaneous pass power.

Its like a whole new shift pattern going on. Stoked!

So far so good. I’ll have plenty of drive time this week on both highway and some country twistys. I’ll report more as the week progresses.

I could tell everyone here was a bit tentative on these using me as a guinea pig. I was reluctant, as well, but trusted Keith on these as he has them on his 1st Gen. So far, everything he said is true about them especially the subtle downshifting (which was the only thing about these in my mind was calling bs).

The install is a bitch though. Just make sure you take your time and account for every washer and o-ring. Too easy to lose those suckers and things will go south fast from there. Also, lube every o-ring and orifice with motor oil before installation.

Operation Black Out(no I'm not drunk) began today. First time using plasti dip. I did a pretty crappy job on the wheels. Took some time to realize I had it way to close. But still, it looks pretty sick. Totally changed the look of the truck IMO. Took me all day honestly. The prep time takes forever. I think I may eventually dip the rest of the chrome.

What do you think about using white plasti-dip on the chrome bumper?https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000981AA2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_t13xCbSXTR1WX

Possibly but it’s not my truck and you can just pull it off if you don’t like it and try the other.

Take that one bolt off and the whole back half of the exhaust system slides off.
It'll probably need to be cut off. Just the bolt. I had to cut mine off with a Dremel.

Some advice about Plasti Dip is the more coats you apply, the easier it is to peel off.

Planning on replacing my lower ball joints with new oem ones and tie rods (inner and outers) soon. Anyone know the toyota part numbers for the oem lower ball joints? Might just order online from the dealership because closest dealership is 2 hours away. Also any recomendations for tie rod ends? Thanks

Too early to calculate. End of this coming week the 02’ will have some miles under her belt and I’ll do the first calculation. Never have been one to worry about MPG, but roughly in the city its 9-12 and highway 16-17 MPG.

She has bigger tires 285/75/r16. So my odometer is off a bit. I assume an 8% delta in speed/mileage.

This Friday will be interesting to see if there is a betterment. I hope so, but the mpg is not why I did the upgrade. I did it because I was wanting to clean the existing injectors locally and saw these which claimed bit more power/torque. So far it ‘feels’ true.

Yeah we don't exactly buy these trucks with gas mileage on our mind.
I drove to King of the hammers this weekend. Loaded with firewood, gas, camping supplies, up through the mountains. And was getting 17mpg
