This is what I have also. Works great to check if you forgot to put the door down after you left the house.

Just a headsup, the Chamberlain MyQ was the one on my radar before the MSG100, but they charge a nominal annual fee to work with your google mini or Alexa's. Note that might not even matter if you don't plan to use that function, the app still works but my research showed up some unhappy customers with basic connection issues. Make sure you have a robust router in somewhat close proximity either way.

I just use the app on my phone and it is free. I have it send me alerts when ever the door is opened or closed.

Yes, that part is free. I believe MyQ is one of the few companies that charge for Alexa/Google integration. Works good otherwise?

The MyQ system is a budget friendly way to add some automation to your house too. I added a MyQ switch to my porch light and have it programmed to turn on and off every day. Can also turn the light on from the app if I get home after the light has turned off.

You should be able to program one of the buttons on your remote to control the light switch. Convenient.

I use the app on my phone and and control the garage door and lights.

Wife does not like the app so I did program one of the buttons on the remote in her car to control the light.

It’s great to be able to let people in the house remotely. We were on vacation and had a issue with our house sitter not showing up. With apps on my phone we could open the garage door and turn off the alarm so a neighbor could check on our animals.

I’ve never paid any type of annual fees.
When we were building the AR15 guys recommended these openers (jackshaft) because of how they lock and unlock (wheels, by bolt) every open and close and they can’t be broke into like normal garage door openers. The jackshaft is a lot more reliable than a chain opener and quieter (no chain, mounted to the side of door which leaves room for overhead storage).
I think I pad $50 more per motor, and maybe $50 or something for the wireless.
It was a no-brainer for us in our situation.
    And then there’s this video

My Raynor opener (liftmaster) has built in WiFi connectivity for myQ so I didn’t need a bridge or anything. I just use the phone app. Also hid the opener in the overhead console where the “business card” holder is, fits perfect

Got it setup on our phone’s Alexa app, but it’s not just “Alexa, open Garage Door”, you have to add “ask Meross to”. Maybe that way you don’t do it easily by mistake. So I instead, I renamed the Meross device something else.

To surprise my wife as we approach our house, I say to the dash mounted phone: “Alexa, ask Meross to open thy gate to me lady’s domain”. Voila, my wife sees the garage open... she looks at me and says, “F’in nerd” lol (I named it back to “Garage Door”)

    Flux capacitor!
Before pics of a stone sidewalk and front porch project. I had all the stone demoed out and expanded the size of the front porch. 597FC594-32AD-470C-9C45-8C5F75CA8D0E.jpg 8F0FACEF-15FF-41C3-89B6-D039A1D5DF76.jpg
Removed the old cast iron fence. Pushed the front porch sidewalk out another 2’ to make it flush with the front house foundation. 1,200 linear feet of fencing is almost done. Paint and post caps will go on after we finally get some dry weather.
    D3E47944-48CB-45D3-B1AB-E5FA1C599755.jpg
I had the sidewalk off the driveway flared. I will have new landscaping & low voltage lighting done in the next month. Next week I’m having all the red stamped concrete grinder, applying a bonding agent, having a stone overlay finish done and stained to clients specs. When it’s all done it will be one uniform look.
    D50CFC60-50E4-4FC6-B0B2-CF7878A2FD8B.jpg
Here’s my second phase of landscape lighting. I’m doing 4-5 down light in each of the oak trees & 1-2 well up lights on each tree.

I might just do that. I have a fire pit already so I will have a hefty stockpile. Luckily my buddy is clearing farm land and said I could take it there too and he'll burn it

Finally, started making my kitchen cabinet doors, everything book matched. It's a balancing act. Kitchen cabinet doors to make the wife happy, meanwhile the LT kit is going on right outside the Kitchen window. :DIMG_20190209_112647806.jpg
