Why does everyone seam to freak out over the cam tower leak?

I personally see nothing wrong it doesn't effect the tundra performance. It doesn't use enough oil that I ever worried about it. I have to be missing something.

no one freaks out. You just need to be aware of the issue then it's your call.

When people spend thousands of dollars on a truck with there hard earned money, They shouldn't have an engine with seeping oil.

Agree it's not a major concern as far as drivability, but as @jeremyd stated after spending 45K on a new truck it shouldn't leak, seep, or whatever you want to call it. My truck is only 18 months old and has 36K miles on it. Others on here are having issues much sooner than me. That's not acceptable.

My engine isnt leaking, yet at least. But ford and gm owners live with constant trips to the dealer. Ill take oil drips any day!

I've owned several Toyota vehicles since the 80's and every one of them leaked oil. It was typically just enough to notice it but not enough to have to add oil between oil changes.

I discovered the leak on my 2015 and got it repaired at 58.5k miles. I was disappointed to find the leak to say the least, especially considering my previous 2006 4.7L tundra had over 176k miles with no leaks. I now have over 91k miles on my 2015 and the repair has been fine. It seems to be hit or miss on which truck has the leak and which doesn't. It is frustrating how there seems to be no standard across the board on how and when the repair is handled. Some service departments will only repair one side if the other is not leaking and some service departments won't bother with the repair because it is a 'seep' and not a 'leak'. Personally, I got both sides repaired even though it was likely just a 'seep' on the driver's side. However, I had to being the 'seep' to their attention even though the truck is in there every 5k miles for service. I found it annoying they didn't bother looking for it, I had to bring it to their attention (just like I also had to bring the leaking CV boot to their attention).
Overall, I am very happy with the repair and have had no issues with the repair so far.
