What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

If u don't mind, tell him if he's patient I might have a set. Tell him to reach out PM me. I just need to get all my goodies installed and make sure I like it. If I do, I'll have my pro wheels, spidertrax 1.25 wheel spacers, and 295/70r18 nitto ridge grapplers with some life left on them. Tnx brother.

Just as an FYI you wouldn't have enough bite on the nuts holding your SSO bumper if you place CB shims on..... I tried and tried..... man that just sounded funny, but you know what i meant...

Yup, even tried just 1 shim each side and the nuts caught better. But I was concerned of the weight of the bumper + winch + light bar all together. So I ended up just modifying front inner fender a little bit.

Well thanks to @Prostar 190 for the idea/instructions on his build for this one.

Just did the “lighted door switches” mod. Turned out TITS! SOrry no pics. Bryan already posted them on his build page

 

Got my JDM ASTAR 1260 led turn signals and installed them. 5 min job

Looks bright even during the day.

 

Just ordered a set of 295s for the truck
Could not pass up this sale on them
Hopefully they fit!!

Gonna trim my skid plate this weekend before I mount them in hopes that’s all I need to do

Keeping my black and red theme with a roof wrap! Probably won't last for shit in the CO sun, but I'm hoping to get a couple years on it.

I think it gives the truck a little more sporty look, and the gloss black matches the gloss Pro wheels and bed liner....

Thanks man. Never really liked the Toyota one which came with it from the dealer. The Diamondback one is awesome. Seriously can’t believe more people don’t have these.

 

Today I ordered a half case of oil filters, the Motivx filter tool from Amazon.

Ordered the rear sway from Roman.

Installed the reverse light bar from VLED. I didn't like the look of the exposed license plate edges so I hacked up my cheap Amazon cover. (came with 2) Added a small nylon washer to help keep the light horizontal. Due to the way it is milled in the back to accept the plate it wants to tilt down without a small spacer of some sort. I wish they made the light as a complete frame. Not a perfect solution but as far as looks goes I guess it's a 5 footer.....

 

Are you going to run the KB bars under the Diamondback?

 

Agreed I've said it many times in my build thread and db thread and bunch of other threads like a broken record. Why people would buy any other cover that's even remotely close to a grand without at least buying even the se version is beyond me. Yet I see people continue to do it. Not everyone has the need for the HD to do this


But the se version at that price point that comes offly close to alot of other 6,7,8,900 bucks, why not spend a few more and get such a badass cover that can hold 400 lbs, not to mention, again, all the other benefits. Guess some things I'll go to the grave just not knowing why.

 

My only hesitation with that cover over something that folds or rolls up is I tend to pick up used motorcycles every so often. If I am out and about where the heck am I going to put that cover so I can load a bike in the back? It doesn't look like you could load it in the back seat of the crew cab. Or can you???

 

I see your point. I dont know if it would work due to middle being the secured part down. I know u could fold back portion over and maybe get away with a bed extender depending on weight on tailgate. It might not be the best solution in your situation but where there's a will theres a way. The front and rear portions can be removed in minutes. Only the middle portion takes a little longer and you would have to remove 2 bolts on each side. It's a guess, but I'm guessing if u really wanted to u prob could remove it and put it sideways with a slight angle to fit it in the back of a crewmax with the seats up on it's side. A roll up might be easier for u though. I mean once u remove the cover I'm sure u could lay it either flat length ways in bed on floor or on its side on side of bed once u get the bike in. Like I said, depending how bad u wanted it, I'm pretty sure a way could be figured out. Not saying it's the easiest or best for that specific application. I'm with u on that.

 

I contemplated this as well as @flying dave. I have a dirt bike and go ride just about every other weekend. I researched all the Bakflips, etc vs stock. None just fold up behind the window and allow a bike to be transported. Even the Bakflip that goes vertical behind the window doesn't allow the tire to push against the truck bed. So I chose the stock one so I could have one with an easy warranty, and can still be removed with one person. I'm glad I did because I just made a warranty claim and it was replaced no problem. It got chalky within a few months and looked terrible. I'm sure the others have a warrenty but I'm sure it's less convenient.

 

Sad part is I REALLY like the looks of that cover. And I’m sort of looking at the ARE covers. Just get a trailer my inner voice says. Right now I’m having choice paralysis and don’t have any cover. Which is really good for my wallet and probably my marriage... lol
