Are TRD Sway bars on Platinum a good idea for towing?

I have a new to me 2017 Platinum CM that I bought as I plan to get a larger trailer. The trailer will still be light at 5500 GVW so I'm not worried about the Tundra hauling it. But I do wonder if it would be a good idea to add the TRD Sway bars for handling. It would then be more like the SR5 TRD Sport package, correct?

Looking for anyone who has experience with this setup. Feedback is appreciated!

 

I have a 2010 Limited and added a Hellwig rear sway bar and wished I would have done it alot sooner.

 

Sway bars, either TRD or hellwig are a good idea for towing and over all ride quality will improve. You will be happy with your investment.

 

Personally I have one and think it's a great idea unless you are planning on spending a lot of time in axle deep mud and stumps.

 

I have TRD sway bars front and rear...made a huge difference. I also added "Sumo Springs". My truck is very stable and the handling is much improved over stock. My boat is 5-6000lbs. No sweat...truck rides level and handles great.

 

Good for towing, not so much for wheeling.

Not that knowledgable on sway bars so I've been reading and what I've been reading is that RWDs use the front sway so what made you go for the rear?

 

I added one to my platinum and noticed a huge difference when towing my trailer. I use to sway on the highway with a heavy load and now my truck can handle it much better

 

Tundra comes with a front sway bar standard, but none on the rear. TRD front bar is stiffer to reduce the body roll more than the stock one. But it does not do as much as the rear one does. The rear if you put one on you go from nothing specifically made to reduce roll to very little body roll. The effects are significant with just the rear one, it stabilizes the ride a ton and you are stuck to the road a lot more.
