Have you tried the bypass? Different dealer? calling Toyota directly?

Why wouldn't you just spend 100 or so on the bypass module?

Do your research before you fork over $2500 for something that can be fixed much cheaper!

I did a write up on replacing these on my 2011. You can do it yourself and it's not as difficult as you might think.

Shit happens buddy. If you buy anything with an engine and other components, Murphy's law will eventually kick in.

Follow the write up @Nor7 did and call it a day.

your poll makes me wonder whether or not your eyes are crossed and if you refer to your father as uncledad?

Yeah I can understand the frustration of a 2500 dollar bill but was that only thing that went wrong with your tundra. Other then the common ware items such as tires, brakes, hoses, belts etc. I know I spent well over 2500 dollars on my RAM over the years on mechanicals that broke such as radiators, brakes line, belly gaskets just to name a few.

That poll makes no sense to me. Are you sure you own a Tundra? If you look at your truck, does it say F-O-R-D anywhere? :D

Every vote counts! Couldn't help but smile when I read the poll as well. Think our new friend Dawn is having a little trouble getting used to the layout.

Hey guys, lets go easy on the guy. I felt exactly the same when this happened to me. I was cursing the Toyota name. It took me a while to get over it. It is very frustrating to have something like this happen on a truck that has a reputation for lasting forever and to be left high and dry by the company.

I'm well into 114k miles on mine and that's been my only problem. Can't say the same for other trucks I've owned.

x2, good luck but you'll probably get the same response I did. However its still good to call. If there is a recall that expands to our trucks they will have you on file and you'll be reimbursed for your expenses.

Leer topper, MagnaFlow, TRD CAI, TRD Hvy skid plate, and I want less chrome!
2500 is pretty damn cheap for a mid mileage Toyota Tundra. That's why I don't mind sinking a few hundred into my beater Saturn, with a crappy air plenum, where I get heat or AC out of every orifice. But it's hard to beat a running 200 car.

2500 for a good used Tundra? You wont find it for sale. Fix it and drive it.

Very disappointed in this truck. I bought for reliability. Now this. What next?
