I like to put my sunglasses on the dash, but as TundraDude34 was ranting, that dimple in the middle of the dash is kind of like an ice skating rink: everything just goes flying off. [My sunglasses are too big for the overhead holder, which would tick me off, if it wasn't for the fact that I keep my reading glasses there now.]

So, I bought this. It works and looks pretty good too.

So you just put your sunglasses on top of that and no more flying off?

That's right. Works like a charm! It's sticky, but it doesn't leave a residue. Costs 6 bucks.

In the 70's and 80's everybody kept tons of stuff on the dash, and I don't remember it sliding around and being a problem because the dashes sloped toward the front glass. [Well, except for that time we were chasing a pheasant across milo rows at 35 miles per hour. Probably a really bad decision by my hippie uncle.]

That area of the dash is the dumbest design idea, its useless. Glad you found a way to make it functional for you.

I used to keep a Dukes of Hazzard hot wheel and a Stomper 4 x 4 from McDonald’s happy meal on my dash. Until they flew out the window around the corner one day. Then I used Velcro!
