I recently changed the oil on my Tundra. I have an RCI skid plate and when I inserted the plastic piece to drain the oil in the cartridge housing it turned into a messy ordeal. Is there a better way to drain the oil cartridge housing without making a mess?

MotivX oil drain tool. It's inexpensive, simple to use, well built and it works.MX2340_Img4_c929436d-45d9-4929-aacb-9780772cfd5e.jpeg.jpg

None of that fancy stuff for me. Jammed the drain thingy that comes with the filter into a piece of 1/2" schedule 40 pvc that's cut about 2" above my drain pan. It might drip a couple of drops but no mess.

Oops, thanks, totally missed that. I think at that price I’ll keep using the tool I have, especially since another modern Toyota will hopefully join the herd soon. But damn, that looks nice.

Camry. Hopefully a ‘19 SE 4cyl, but trying to save a bit more while the old ‘01 Corolla with almost 400,000 km is still going strong. Wife drives quite a bit, so fuel economy is a priority.

I just ordered the motivx drain tool just now so I can have a good first experience changing the oil in my Tundra. Just received the Fumoto 103s drain valve as well.

Are you using the original plastic housing or the upgraded aluminum housing? I have the new aluminum for the next oil change and not sure I am seeing a plug to remove. Thinking I remember a plug like in the pics of product.

I am still using the plasic one, but the Toyota aluminum one is set up the same. The plug has a 3/8” square recess.
