Bought used, has this installed on it already. Neither it or the factory remotes will unlock the doors. UNLESS the vehicle is running and only then. Then you can use the remotes to lock/unlock.

However, when using the remotes to lock/unlock, I can hear a motor trying to work.

I went to a local Audio store that sells this brand to pick their brain and spit ball a solution, and all they said was "It's not the products fault, it's sending a signal and doing what it's suppose to do, (the motor sound) so it's on the vehicle side." I wasn't accusing them of faulty work just wanted to pick their brain. I went in right at opening and there were not any customer thinking that was the best time to shoot the shit with them.

Any ways, Any Ideas where to start?

    Thank you.

Edit; I should note that the door lock switches, in the doors, work fine.

Bad door lock motors? Pretty common. Pull the door panel, unplug the motor, put a bolt meter and see if it’s getting a 12v pulse. If it is you know bad motor. If it isn’t... well then you have to start digging.

    I'll give it a try.

    Thank you.

It’s probably your battery...check that first.

So you say the door locks work fine when the truck is running as well as with the switches on the door panel? I think that rules out something wrong with the actuator itself.

When the truck is not running and you hit unlock, can you hear them trying to work then?

If this is the case maybe they didn’t pull power from the right source so it’s not getting the full voltage. Sorry I’m not an electrician but maybe they pulled off of a source that only gets power when the truck is on.

Makes it sound like he can hear it try to work when off, makes me think there isn’t enough juice in battery to get the job done without the alternator giving it a hand...

Touché. My second thought was that somebody tied power into an ignition source, but that’s some dumbassery, if so. Wonder if this problem just started or has been an issue since purchase. I could definitely see somebody macguyvering a quick fix by tapping into an ignition wire instead of constant power when trying to sell.

This is what I'm suspecting. I'm wondering if the previous owner DIY installed it. Not sure, the original remotes look almost brand new however.

At first I always thought "bad Batteries", but the remote start would work every time. Still I replaced the batteries just to rule it out.

I’d check your truck battery just to rule that out, weird stuff happens when a battery slowly takes a shit...

Here’s a thought. Is your alarm actually working at this point? Do you the trucks original remotes unlock the doors?

Yep, at the dealership this weekend for a 5k service and told them the issue and they did check the Vehicle batt. No issues there.

Not sure if the Alarm works? there is an Alarm light but by the clock that flashes until I insert key and switch the ignition to Run position..

Negative, Original Factory Remotes do not Unlock/lock the doors Either. Same wizzing/whorling noise is heard. Short very brief.

Yes. other then the Key lock on ONLY the Driver Door, it's the only way I can excess the cab.

It's only a slight inconvenience, as it's winter and I almost Pre warm the vehicle every time. But It would be nice.

I'm thinking if uninstalling it would be the best plan and see if that solves it.

Sounds like it’s improperly installed. I’d see if somebody could correct this as it could just be a single wire incorrectly wired. Remote start and keyless entry is super nice, I’d try and fix before just removing, sounds like it’s 95% correctly installed.
