My brother is going to look at this truck tomorrow. Price seems a little low to me so I am thinking there is something up with it. What should we look for? Obvious things are timing belt, water pump, and frame rust. Anything else with the First Gens? Thanks!

You named the big ones. Unless the owner has receipts it will be hard to tell if the timing belt has been done. Being a PA truck rust will be likely. I would be sure to lift up that plastic bed liner and check under there.

Might be a good idea to ask for the vin ahead of time and pop it in Toyota's website to see if they have any maintenance records.

Based on the pictures it seems like a good price for a truck in decent shape.

Most mechanics will document the mileage tb/wp was done on the plastic engine cover.

Seems about an average price for an 02 that's in decent shape in the salt belt. You can see the bottom edge of the cab is starting to rust. at 180k I'd bet the timing belt hasn't been done since it's right at the interval.

Good call on the rust. I didn’t see that.
