    What up Team Tundra?

Just upgraded from previous Tacoma (which I loved). I started looking around, decided I wanted a PRO and took some time to make sure it was the right decision.

I emailed about a dozen dealerships from here (Burlington, VT) to NY, NH, MA, and NJ. Told them what I had and what I wanted and started playing the waiting game. I was pretty surprised at the offers coming back on my Tacoma, I bought it for 36K 5 years ago with 16 miles on it. The best offer, which happened to be the same dealership that I'm getting the Tundra from was $31,500, and they told me to keep the cap, which I just sold today for another $1,000. Not a bad deal IMO.

I gotta say, buying a truck over email was a way better experience than going to any dealership. It was quick and easy. I will say I had no problem paying MSRP, as I know these are pretty rare and it was highly unlikely I'd find one under it. The only thing I refused to pay was any ADM.

So here we are, waiting for the Tundra, driving my Taco as little as possible so some asshole doesn't drive in to me. I'm super pumped to get the last of the V8's and can't wait to start building it up a bit. I'm not looking for super decked out builds, but new wheels, new tires, Westcott collar, CB +3 shackle, some lighting solutions, a bed rack, and a cab rack are probably all in order over the next year or so.

Any way, hello to you all, I'm new here, but I've been reading along for some time.

Cheers Team Tundra! I'll be posting more pictures in the next month.

Actually would have thought you would have gotten a bigger offer for the Tacoma. I see people on Tacoma world getting more than what they paid years ago. Still not a bad offer though.

Hope you get it soon! Welcome!

Interesting! I can't complain though, $3,500 less than I paid 5 years ago, basically a rental. last year I jokingly said If I could get 28K for it I'd be happy.

Which dealer did you end up buying from. I’ve always bought from Toyota of Nashua but my mom had luck with Boch.

I ended up buying from North Country Toyota in Saratoga, NY. My in laws live there so I figured it’d be an easy trip and I could stay the night after picking it up.

Congrats on the new truck. For peace of mind on the Tacoma value plug it into Carvana, that’s where I found my highest value a month ago and got the dealer to match it.

Carvana offered me the same amount. I was going to use it as leverage, but didn't need to, they made the offer without me even asking.

    Welcome!

MSRP on a Pro looks like a win these days. Some of the smaller New England dealerships seem like a good way to go as far as pricing. My dad got his 2021 4Runner TRD Pro at Faith Toyota in Westminster, VT for $3,500 off MSRP this May.

    Few instal updates:

Diamondback HD cover - This was a super easy and smooth install. I did order the wrong brackets to hold the center piece down, but DB was super fast to get me the correct ones out. This thing is sturdy as hell and looks awesome. I went with the smooth finish with all the cleats. Will likely be looking at some Frontrunner racks this winter for ski and snowboards.
    IMG_7004.jpg

Next up wast the CaliRaised Sliders - Step Edition
Install on these was much longer. My dad came to my shop to do a bunch of the work while I was in meetings, but I popped out a few times to help with some tricky parts. The passenger side was pretty straightforward but the drivers side was kind of a PITA working up under the gas tank. Took us about 5 hours with a lunch break, but a lot of that time he was working by himself taking his time. I really love the surface area on these. My kids are 7 and 9 so its a nice large step for everyone. I also don't mind it, I'm 6'3" so with the step I feel no need to put the drivers side grab handle in. At first I thought they stuck out a little more than I liked but when I put the new Wheels are tires on the proportions look perfect IMO (see below)
    IMG_7037.jpg

    Lift, wheels and tires.
    Specs -
Coachbuilder +3 Shackles and .5" bumper shims (1.75" lift)
Westcott Designs TRD PRO front lift (1.5" lift)
    Method 701 Bronze wheels - 18x9 +25 Offset
    BFG KO2 - 35x12.5x18

Had a shop put this all on for me and I think its really completes the Zombie look. Wasn't intentional but now that I see it all together I think it fits the build quite well. The ride certainly changed a bit, obviously I gained about 3" so so between the lift and tires being bigger. I has a little more of a planted feel with the stance being wider. The ride itself feels every so slightly bouncier. Not really in a bad way but that is the only way I can describe it. I only had 628 miles on the stock setup so I'm sure I'll forget what that felt like pretty quick. Overall I'm super please with the setup, looks, feel, performance.

    DSC_9628-3.jpg
    DSC_9629-3.jpg

AND I was please that it still fit in my garage!

Your truck looks great! A couple questions for ya. With the 35’s and +25 offset wheels did you have much plastic trimming or BMC? Is your garage door standard (7’?) height?

    Update - Added:

    Trigger4 Plus
Baja Design - Squadron Sport Fog kit
Baja Design - Squadron Sport Ditch lights
Caliraised LED Low pro Ditch Brackets

Put these all in the other day. Massive amounts of light when everything is on, its pretty amazing. Install was very straight forward. Removing the Rigid fog light took me the longest. First one took about 30 minutes, then once I figured out what I was doing the second took about 4 minutes.

    Pleased with the outcome.

Great looking truck! I have been considering the same lift kits, how is the ride quality? Love the way stock feels, want to add some height without sacrificing ride quality.

Thanks. I threw on the 35s at the same time as the lift so the ride changed a bit due to that but still feels super nice! Honesty I only drove it stock for about a week so I don’t even really remember exactly what it felt like. Really love this truck!

Did you end up replacing the Pro fog light housings w/the OE non-Pro ones to mount the round Baja housings or use something different for the set up???
