    Greetings Tundra community!

First of all, I wish to thank everyone in this platform for making it what it is.

And thank you, Bob, for supporting the Tundra community.

I just recently purchased my 2010 Tundra from a dealership.

I just finished installing a Tesla 13.3” swivel head unit (yes it fits!).

Nevertheless, I’m experiencing some difficulty with locating the backup camera wires.

In my research, I’ve read everything from splicing into the rear view mirror wires to running my own and simply connecting to the camera in the tailgate.

If I need to run my own wires, so be it. I have no problem doing so.

However, it seems to me that since there are wires already to the camera, I should be able to locate them somehow.

    My question is this:

Has anybody experienced this dilemma and if so what is the remedy?

Once again, I’m honored to be inducted into the Tundra Community. I am a proud, die hard Tundra fan and I look forward to further interaction with this esteemed community.

Welcome from SoCal. Are you talking about the reverse wire (singular wire)?

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody (and from all across the US, at that! Awesome!)

Regarding your question, alb1k, my truck originally had the stock Nav GPS System 86120-0C360 Head Unit.

When in reverse, the screen of the Head Unit became the view of the backup camera. It was not in the rearview mirror in my truck.

When I purchased my Tundra, the original Head Unit was on the floor of the back seat. It had been replaced with a single DIN system.

The camera and it's wiring from the tailgate is all still intact. Nevertheless, when I removed the single DIN Head Unit, I did not see the wire which leads back to the camera. I'm wondering if this wire was snipped during the swapping of the two systems. But, I'm uncertain because I'm unfamiliar with what it looks like and the type of plug used to plug into the OEM Head Unit.

I'm thinking that I may need to just run the wire to the camera and call it a day.

    What are your thoughts?

    Thanks for your input.

Welcome aboard sir! If it hasn’t been previously mentioned, we like pics. Is this one of the Android units? Or an actual Tesla screen?
Plug for camera may look like this in your year model

Thank you, KNABORES! I have not seen one of these plugs in my dash. So is it safe to assume it has been snipped/removed?

And no, I have not been informed of the pictures until you told me.

Here are a couple depictions of it that I borrowed from a certain China Product Supplier Platform. I'll take some pictures of it installed and upload those for the community to see.
