I traded my '20 for a '22, but I'm asking in this forum since I believe there are a good number of people here who have had experience with ICON suspension (versus the '22+ forum)
There seems to be a lot of nightmare stories among a variety of truck forums on ICON stuff...
How has quality/longevity been with yours? Was there an improvement to the ride vs stock? Etc.
    Thanks

Fwiw, I live on the west coast so salt is not an issue. I ran Donahoe (pre Icon rebranding) Rear resi's on my old Taco without issue for several years. And now RXT leafs and clicky's on the back of my Tundra, no issues and they fit/work great.

search Icon, there are many threads, some dedicated about the products. Leaking shocks come to mind if I recall but I never dug too deep in researching them because I preferred other suspension products/manufacturers for the $.

I had icon coilovers and shocks on my 2010 for over 50k miles and now on my 18 for almost 40k with no issues. I like them. Their customer service has been good.

If I did it again though, I’d go with the TRD Fox setup. For a 22, I think I’d get the Toyota lift and through the dealer to maintain warranty.

Fox, king, ADS for shocks. Icon billet UCA, RXT leafs (change the bushing to poly!) and their air bump kit are good stuff.

There've been a plethora of complaints up until, like, 1-2 years ago about Icon shock bodies leaking, anywhere from a few months into install to just weeks or months outside of warranty. There are some guys on the 1st Gen forum like @FirstGenVol who've had theirs installed for 20k+ miles with zero leaks and zero issues, so the problems may've been solved.

I was hashing through possible suspension packages with a vendor that's here on the forum, privately, and Icon got pitched as a possible. When I mentioned all the threads across many forums talking about the leaking shock bodies problem, and said, "You sell their stuff more than I read forums, if you can tell me this is a done deal, they've fixed it, and you aren't seeing any come back, and you can get near to or better than Toytec pricing, I'm in"

I never got a reply, after several friendly, non-conentious back-and-forths prior to that message. We can only assume the reason why. Is it because they didn't want to crap on a manufacturer whose parts they sell? Did they just forget to loop back? Did my ask to come close to another comparable product's pricing offend or something? I'll never know.

It's really tough to beat the price on the Elka-rebranded Toytec Aluma Boss offering. And I haven't heard much of any negative from that specific kit.

I've had mine for over a year now and I love it, went with stage 8 and rtx leaf pack on option 3. Rides smooth, handles great, no signs of premature wear. I've had a buddy running stage 10 on his 4runner for atleast 10 years and he's rebuilt the shocks but other then that they have been great to him, that's part of the reason I went with it.

Stage 9 with few miles so I cannot touch on longevity. In regards to "performance", subjective I guess. I'm a turtle and use the truck for camping and exploring, hauling a 16ft enclosed trailer for utility. Improvement over stock for sure if you have the right setting for comp and rebound. Aside from the stories of leaking, the other thing you'll probably encounter is the "I didn't get the full advertised lift" so have some perspective, if your armored up and heavy you may want to research what shocks and springs will work for you (I did not and it cost me some time and a bit more money).

The other thing people forget on "advertised lift", follow the FSM for true height measurements, measuring a fender lip will show how much sag your truck already has in it.

I look at your setup and the TAV Tundras...I just wish I would have watched the videos sooner.

Thanks! Yea, definite learning curve to all this like anything else. Even with my old mans TAV setup we're actually updating a few things to optimize it more. I just have heard/seen icon issues etc.

Icon 2.5's in front and regular Icons in the rear for 50k+ miles now. No leaks or squeaks. Going to rebuild the front soon and add reservoirs for a fraction of new. Super happy with their performance!

I'm hoping that with my slow old man style of driving my icons last a while.

Icon stage 6 2.5 suspension kit. (Front coils, shocks w/ resi’s, UCA’s, rear shocks with resi’s) RCI 18in HD bed rack w/ tonneau adapter
Just wanted to chime in, I did the Stage 5 Icons on my 3rd Gen (coils, shocks with resi’s and UCA up front and shocks with resi’s in the rear). A little stiffer than expected at first, then started to settle, then one trip to the dirt and they feel “broken in” - they are so comfy on and off road now. They handle insanely well, feel like I can corner the same as my coupe…

for everyone thinking about them, my buddy has the same truck with Fox. He may be a little comfier on the road but if we’re in the desert and hit something hard at 60mph+ his spleen gets checked and my wife can drink her coffee with no lid. Feeling the small bumps on the road changed a lot after the first desert trip. It still feels them more than my buddy’s fox’s but when we hit the bigger bumps, I’m fine, also his body roll is way more, I can take turns on the road 10-15mph faster than him.

I have remote reservoir icon coil overs since December 2022 and about 65k miles on them. After adding skid plates and being in the "rebuild timeframe" I'm looking into dobinson's.
My preload is more than maxed out and I lost about an inch of height with weight and time. They don't offer a heavier spring and told me "we recommend you look into eibach springs".
They were about the best option when I lifted my truck, but I don't think I would go the same route again.
