No doubt for me its the bank robbery gone wrong in Heat. Any time any of my friends gets new speakers, a new surround system, we give it the Heat test.

One of my friends had been working for months converting his basement to a really nice home theater setup. His house is typical for my part of town, 60's/70's era ranch, half the basement is garage, half is the rumpus room. He ripped out all the dark paneling and 70's green carpet, lots of work he did himself. I really didn't get a clue as to how much he spent on this setup until we watched Heat.

Well it sounded like I was getting shot at from all directions, I had to put my ears into my fingers it was so fucking loud. Its kind of funny because my buddy hired a professional audio engineer to spec out this system for his space. He told him he wanted to watch Heat and believe it was actual rifle fire, at that same db lol. I mean he must have spent a cool 20g's just on equipment/speakers.

The good, the bad, and the ugly. At the end with Blondie, Angle Eyes(?) and Chuko(sp?).
That was the first thing to come to mind.

Interesting fact, most of the main actors didnt speak the same language and actually did their lines in their native language. The directors then added English voice overs to their lines for the final cut.

So... I'm gonna contribute because I like the idea of this thread. But no actual shootout came to mind right away. I get irritated if they're not realistic-- but no one pays money to watch 'realistic'. Instead, I thought immediately of a great shootout averted. One of the best scenes ever. I want to judge this guy but....

Good thread@Aron9000, while westerns come to mind , there's a lot of good shoot- outs. To many to pick the best or favorite one. For me the shoot- out in John Wick 2, from the weapons selection scene to the adrenaline rush shoot-out. Badass imop:quickdraw::fenforcer:

The Pacific and Band of Brothers had some really good ones as well.

Saving Private Ryan was just crazy loud on a good surround sound system.

I’m sure the men that were really there had a much different experience and remembrance. Just a guess though.

Dude, that scene got my blood pumping, can't wait for the 3rd movie. Gonna be interesting to see if the 3rd one can top the first 2. Don't recall any 3rd movie ever being better than the first 2. There's been a few sequels that were better than the 1st. John Wick 2, Rocky 2, Aliens, Empire Strikes Back . Just a few of my picks, oh yeah The Godfather 2 also

Sir! Rocky 3 and 4 are tied for the best films of the series. That’s non-debatable.

Also, though they fell back off, the Fast and Furious movies were at their best starting at part 4.

This is one of my favorite. This movie also has one of my all-time favorite scenes period when Eastwood turns back to the town and yells that they better "bury Ned right". Awesome!

I’ve heard Wyatt Earp is a damn good movie, still need to watch it though.

As far as favorite movie shoot outs, it’s gotta be Open Range, the original John Wick and Sicario.

Fun fact: Rocky 4 has only around 27 minutes of dialogue. Over two thirds of the movie is boxing and training montage. The robot has more lines than most of the actors.

Rocky 3 has Mr. T in his prime. It also has the greatest scene from any of the films:

    https://youtu.be/mn26NOoV_lQ

These two are clearly the very best the series has to offer, though all are great. (Except 5. It sucked donkey balls.)

Everyone I’ve ever said that to was outraged. I like Tombstone, don’t get me wrong. Wyatt Earp is more of a historical movie, as opposed to the Hollywood treatment Tombstone got.

John Wick is one of my favorite movies, great shootouts, but this is my favorite scene:

Absolute best for surround sound IMO is the beginning of Saving Private Ryan when they are storming Omaha beach in Normandy on D-Day. Really gives you a glimpse of what it may have been like for those brave men as you can hear the bullets flying past your head and explosions all around...
