Pictures coming when it’s not raining more, but let my buddy borrow my truck, and he curbed it. Back pass wheel has some scrapes on the outside rim and a couple of gouges in one spoke.

Alloy 20” OEM. Structure, tire, and associated suspension/drive train all fine according to mechanic buddy had check it out before he returned it.

Other than a 12 pack and a sorry from friend should I be worried about this at all?

    To much to list:)
And that is why I just don’t let my stuff get used by my so called friends!!! That happened because he wasn’t paying attention and really didn’t care!!! I reckon if it was/is new then he should pay for it? but you let him use it too?? so you take the responsibility for him not having any.

He should do the right thing and repair it or replace it.

You do make a good point. I’m ambivalent over what I’m going to ask of them. On one hand it was their fault, but they’ve shown willingness to make it right. They called me when it happened and at their own expense flatbed towed it to a shop I trust to check the damage.

On the other hand, while I want to keep her in great condition I accept the fact it’s a truck. I use her off road, on road and hauling loads. Things are gonna happen, including wear and damage.

I will say it’s true, the first scratch is the hardest.

If he's a close friend, 12 pack and a sorry is gonna have to do. Sorry about the imperfections now.

Dang...I know I'm super picky about who drives my truck for the same reason OP. I found myself having to make an odd turn the other day due a train stopped on the tracks where I usually cross. The alternate road is at a backward fork in the road and I had to go forward then back about 3 times to make the turn. No curb but a very different street level. I heard something drag and thought "oh crap". It ended up just being the running board bracket and no damage was done.

A good friend would insist on repairing or replacing. If he doesn't, I would let it go, and then you know where you stand with him in the future.

Yeah, that shouldn’t even be a question. If I damage something that belongs to someone else, I am going to repair, replace it, or pay for it. Non-negotiable.

My wife tells everyone I won’t let her drive mine, but she honestly refuses to. She’s terrified of messing it up.

everyone is different but if I had borrowed your truck I'd be repairing it no questions asked...not saying your friend is a bad guy or anything, some people are just less picky and maybe he doesn't think it would bother you either.

Fair enough. Doesn't mean I would accept it. If @ColoradoTJ or @T-Rex266 or @Grumpy Uncle do minor damage to my truck I'm sure they will offer to fix it, but I wouldn't accpet it. Now if it's a neighbor, hell yes they need to fix it. Depends how close of friends they are to me.

I’ve had that happen before. A friend did some work for me, and refused to accept payment. Knowing his strong political leanings, I told him if he didn’t cash the check, I’d donate the money to a the campaign of a politician he despised in his name. He cashed the check.

Another time, I paid for some pizza we picked up for everyone at my brother’s house when we were visiting him in Alabama. He kept trying to pay me back, but I wouldn’t take it. When we were about an hour from home, my daughter asked if we were in Texas yet. When I said yes, she handed me the money and said her uncle told her to wait until we were in Texas to give it to me.

He’s a huge Alabama fan, so I donated the money to Auburn University in his name. I took the thank you card they sent, framed it, and gave it to him for Christmas.
