Well I have been working on changing a few things and one of them was finished today.
This beast came home and after an hour of fighting it a buddy and myself got to it’s resting place.

It was a spur of the moment thing. Tractor supply has these on sale for $749 and the local store had two of them.
    So I got one
Called a buddy with a flat bed semi with a forklift and he helped me get it home and in the house.
We both were caught off guard with how heavy it is. At least 700lbs.

Anyway here it is a cannon 64 gun residential security cabinet lol

It’s a beast and will never move again

Sweet. I hope those asshats that broke in are languishing in a cramped cell.

    forklift to the deck
    removed from pallet
kick strain pull heave till it tilted on its axis then tipped over the threshold
    reversed once inside house
dollied down hall and got stuck
had to remove dolly and slide on carpet an inch at time around a 45 degree angle, damn house
then used one piece of 1-1/2 pvc and rolled it thru bedroom and pulled into closet and braced our backs against the wall and feet on the bottom of that heavy bitch and slid it up against the wall to its final resting place..

I almost said f it and left it in the dining room LOL

Nope, da office refused to prosecute, said and I quote, no evidence that a crime was ever committed. Took me several weeks to get over that one. The one that actually did get arrested had charges dropped since he was a juvi, now a adult back home in texas,

Ya I got fucked over bad by everyone, not happy, but nothing I can do.

I take comfort in hoping they re commit and some homeowner catches them in the house and shoots the bastards.

Sucks you didn't at the very least get some justice.

Besides bolting it, keep monthly/quarterly inventory sheets and pics of the contents (for insurance). I do mine 4 times a year and get one around Christmas notarized and certified mailed to myself.

Get a dehumidifier bag too if you plan on keeping it shut for long periods.

That's perfect. The typical burglar won't even mess with a big safe.

The United States of second chances. What a crock of shit. I had my house burglarized once too. They took my TV and trashed the llace .happened to find my living room pistol. So they took that too. I never really understood why the old man said to keep a inventory of what you have and serial numbers. I understood that day. Unfortunately it's been about 10 years since it happened and the pistol hasn't shown up, which in a way is a good thing but damn, I feel your pain. I rented so I moved out of there the next month, never could get rid of the feeling that it could happen again. Nice buy tho, what's the fire rating on that beast?

Very nice on the safe! And yes, I remember some of the ass-hat comments.

I would second this as well.
    The easy way? Take pictures.
I take one picture of entire gun, then one picture of serial number. Take a picture of the glass too - if you have nice scopes.

PS - I tried to insure my ammo stash ($40K), and my homeowners wouldn’t cover it.
I quit adding to the stash and loaded up on reloading components instead.

I actually sold off about 25% after I found that out - stuff I bought before Obama and then made a killing when it skyrocketed 5 years later LOL.
Buy it cheap, stack it deep. Securely though! ;)

Hence why I made a safe room in my house. Much easier to bring a block in at a time. The door was the heaviest part.

    Awesome!! Good call!
I don’t know how Ring works, but if it’s like the Nest/DropCam you’ll really become to love the ability to see anything going on at your place.

I highly suggest the cloud service.
We have a handful and the ones that don’t have a subscription annoy me!
It’s nice to scroll back and see motion throughout the day. If you’re phone alerts you and you can’t pull it out at that exact moment you miss the footage without a subscription.
I just had a contractor today at my place that didn’t tell me he was coming.
It’s always funny to call them while on your property. “Oh, uh, you can see me?”
    Yep! LMAO
