Love mine, had one in my tacoma for 6 years and 0 issues with it and ended up getting a Tundra and put one in my 2020 Tundra last year when I got it and it's been fantastic!

Just make sure you get this fuse and pop it in the box to get the alternator to charge the new battery properly!

I've been using one for 2 years, including one Phoenix summer. No issues and I'm happy with it so far. I went with the Ford diode, doesn't need any trimming. I do plan it into an AGM charger/desulfation every few months to be safe.

Been n my Sequoia for over a year. Pheonix did not kill it last summer & it's been in the 30s for a week in the morning, no issues. Search coupons/honey cash back. There are lots of monies to be saved there.

Be prepared to 'top it off' with an AGM charger every once a month or so.
Especially if you don't drive it much daily.

As others stated the AGM battery likes a higher voltage charge than the stock charging system provides.
Search the forum and you can find the diode swap info or order the HBK fuse from Australia (when he gets them back in stock)..
The HBK fuse is nice because it contains a resettable fuse that still protects the system.

I had a bad experience with my X2, but I think I got a lemon.
It died completely twice in 6 months, and that was with the HKB fuse that provides a higher voltage charge.
Batteries Plus wouldn't keep its warranty promises.
But I'm pretty sure I'm the exception, a lot of guys are happy with theirs.

That stated you cant go wrong with an MTP Interstate 27F..:D

I have the HBK, only raised my volts by .2 (to 13.6) the GM brings me to 14.1

I bought the X2 27F this summer, I was just in Brainerd MN last weekend for the Ice Fishing Extravaganza. -18F overnight lows. Truck started in the morning, it groaned a little and was just a little bit slow to start, but started right up where friends trucks didnt.

Also I have the cheap diode from Amazon and it runs about 14.4 volts give or take .1 or .2

I used to work at the BP in Mesa. X2 batteries rarely came in for warranty. The most usual issue was people with power draining accessories when the vehicle was turned off and stored. They are made by north star and are the “best” agm made, a good swap for a conventional battery if the group size is the same.

I had an X2 on my Expedition for years before I traded it for my Tundra.
I have had an X2 in the wife’s Suburban for 3 years now.
No diodes and has never been on a charger. Never had a single issue we see below 0 temperatures and temps above 100.

I’m on year 4. Love it. I did add a voltage booster since I was only getting around 13.4v without one.

Just went with an X2 myself recently. First one died after 12 months, but batteries plus gave me a replacement. I use the HKB also for what it's worth. The X2 batteries are now a 4yr replacement instead of 5 years like they used to be.

The Power X2 is a great addition for your Tundra, I have a X2 24F in my 2017 Pro and it’s been there for about 6 months no diodes or power booster fuse not on a trickle charger either and haven’t had any issues. We had below 0 F temperatures here in the last 2 months and the truck start right away.

Also I have a Duralast Platinum AGM 24F in my wife’s 2016 Acura MDX for the last 2.5 years and trust me this SUV is one of the worst battery killers due to all the technology in it never been on a trickle charger or used a diode or power booster fuse and the battery exceed all my expectations, this is the 3rd battery in all its life and the other 2 only lasted for about 2 years each.

Good battery but very expensive. Also you can buy the GM diode for 5 bucks at O’Reilly

Here is the GM part number for anyone that needs it. I ran this until my HKB arrived.

    Good for you.
There are multiple threads and posts of members that have to 'top off' their AGMs almost monthly.
I read thru them all before buying my X2.

So happy to see you are the exception..

As I stated, I must have gotten a lemon.
The first time it died after 3 months, they gave me a loaner and kept the battery for 3 days.
They told me if it happened again, they would exchange it, no testing, no waiting, no questions.

The second time it happened, 2 months later, they wanted to retest it.
They had no loaner batteries and I can't do without my truck for 3 days.
That same manager wouldn't honor his word of replacement.
So fuck him and fuck Batteries Plus.

I traded that $300 X2 in for a $25 core charge for an Interstate and never looked back.
Never had an issue with the Interstate, never an issue with the battery before I bought the X2.

Just my personal experience and the OP did ask for X2 experiences.
I wasn't going to drag the entire story out (again) until you 2 felt the need to quote me.
    Thanks..

What's interesting is I am stock with stock battery and I regularly see my voltage go to 14.2.

Would I still need to use a diode fuse if I go with the 24F instead of the 27F?

Did you have any issue with that diode fuse?

Right now I am debating on which to go between that one or the gm diode

Nope been in the truck for a year no and no issued whatsoever. Voltage sits around 14.5 and I'm always monitoring it with my UltraGauge!

You just replaced the Alt s fuse with the diode? The HKB has matching amperage rating.

Yep just pop the OEM fuse out and make sure you have the arrow facing the front of the truck, if you have the fuse backwards the battery light will come on and you just have to switch it around and it's all good!
