Drove on soft sand today. Been doing so for years in everything from an 01 taco, 99 wrangler and 06 tundra. All, particularly the 06 tundra, were great. Just put in 4hi and head out.

So that's what I did today. Friggin horrible. Rear axle hop, felt like truck was working against me.

Hate this nanny shit. Then come here to figure it out and it's like 'press the button once, look left, say cheeseburger, back up 12', turn right then left then right again and then push the button again and you'll have switched to a different Nannie.

Stinking retarded is what it is.

Welcome to anything newer than 2012. All vehicle manufacturers are required to have a traction control system on vehicles.

I feel your pain man. My 12' Corvette was the first vehicle owned with TC, then the Tundra, then my taco, and now the GMC. Some are more sensitive than others though.

well for 1 the tundra is significantly heavier then all the other vehicles you listed, 2nd the nannies can be turned off by pushing and holding the button twice..for a total time of 6 secs, try that youll be much happier...with the weight of the truck airing down the tires helps a lot too

My experience is that lower tire pressure has the biggest impact on not getting stuck in the sand.

I was in the sand this weekend at Pismo and I had no problems with nannies on or off. My tires were set to 18 psi.

Was in really soft sand... Dropped to 20psi... Was going about a mile before I started to get stuck... Cussed a couple of times before I realized I forgot to turn on 4wd... Turned it on, not even close to getting stuck...

Granted, on my 4r I rarely even air down but in this thing, 20psi and it should go through anything..
