So I just picked up these taillights from @Mat1018 (thanks again man), I will be swapping out the bulbs for LED's, and I will for sure be tinting them as I wrapped my tailgate black as you can see in the picture below. So what I was wondering is what are your thoughts on wrapping the sides to be color matched to my truck? I really like what cocho.561 on instagram did with his but I wont be painting mine like he did

(wrap would do down the edge of the taillights so from the side it will look color matched and the back will look black)

My Tundra is black so I wrapped my 3rd brake black and when it turns on, it’s a noticeable contrast change at night, like other vehicles where the 3rd looks invisible behind glass when it’s off.

I was going to do the tail lights too but I rather have high visibility red so people keep back in general during the day.

I did buy the TCT reverse only covers except I ripped one during install, I have the other side I can still use as a template. When I received them, I realized they’re nothing special, just precut. I have extra Vivid tint I’ll cut both sides so they match, will do it when it gets warmer, not 100% convinced I like the look (TSS not my pic).

What I don’t like is the chrome 4x4, I have a removal wheel, and black badges ready to go.

OP, do you have other body parts in black? I’ve seen black hoods and accents on white Tundras but never actually seen a 2-tone tailgate like that (except maybe a Platinum F150). Looks cool!

+1 I agree, have friends who have done the sprays and closeup it doesn’t look as professional as OEM-like vinyl tint, despite using glossifiers.

That’s not my pic, I posted it as an example, maybe they sell different degrees of tint darkness?

The problem with doing the whole light is those 2 protruding nibs, it’s hard to heat stretch the vinyl and squeegee the air pockets out around them.

I’ll see how it goes when I do the reverse part only, I just want to tone down the glaring brightness of that section. I don’t mind the red part of the tails, it matches the red TRD sway bar and recovery D-ring.
