Have had to wear safety toe boots/shoes in a long time. Any suggestions? I am going to be on my feet a good bit at my new job

Picture for attention but also looking at Thorogood boots

I have also found that a $50 pair of Sketchers comp toe hikers are better than any Red Wings or other boots when it comes to being on your feet all day.

Redwings, Danner, Hoffman, white’s...all ones that last. Danner, Hoffman, & White’s can be rebuilt.

I have Danners. For ~400.00 you can have a set of boots for 10 years, with putting new soles on ever couple of years and rebuilds ever 5.

I did have a set of White’s in my younger years that were stolen. After break in (2 weeks at least), you could wear them all day long.

Hoffman’s (10”) to be honest we’re my favorite boot.

My Danners I only have maybe 30 hours in. So far a good quality boot.

I have looked at whites. Would love to try but so expensive if I don’t like them.

I have wore Redbacks (not the bass pro crap) for a couple years. Just not great

I used to wear Georgia boots. I swapped to red wings (Irish setter? Memory is fuzzy.) after I fractured 3 out of 5 toes on each foot at the same time. (Nothing was wrong with the Georgia boots I had. I just needed more support after my injury.)

Doctor told me I had low Vitamin d from night shift. (Not in the sun enough, and diet wasn't supplying enough.) So 6 toes fractured and healed later...

    I wear these 12 hours a day.

    20210426_080400.jpg

I've had these almost 9 months, and they are still comfy. In another month I'll change insoles as it is now a habit for fresh comfort.

I have never heard someone not liking Whites or a good quality boot after break in. Boots are like your favorite pair of jeans. They have to fit just right. You don’t need to spend 600+ either to get a good boot. Hell, my favorite all time boot was 265.00.

I’ve always had good luck with keens, I’ve put one pair through a year of hard use so far, and I mean hard use, like a pair of boots lasting me a year is phenomenal

Red Wing for me. Danner is a close second. I swap out all my boot laces immediately for Iron Laces. I get 2 years out of my Red Wings as a welder. The Iron Laces in my current boots are the same ones I bought 4.5 years ago. I just moved them to the new boota each time.

I find Dakota is the only brand that's wide enough for my feet but I think they're at Mark's only so that doesn't help you if you're in the US. A lot of my co-workers like Red Wing but they're pricy.

Danners all the way. Their American made work boots are awesome. Available in steel or alloy toe, alloy don't get cold in the winter the way the steel do, and are lighter. Electrical hazard rated, metatarsal guards, all the bells and whistles... Comfortable out of the box. I'm on hardened concrete all day and walk 5-10 miles a day on jobsites daily. Rebuildable, so they can last for years if you take care of them. I prefer the softer white soles if your on concrete all day, vibram if you are doing dirt work. I love them so much I have 4 pairs for various site conditions, and 3 pairs of their hunting boots... You can get on their mailing list and they have killer sales 3-4 times a year, where you can get $80-$100 off. Only thing I don't like is that you have to add a rubber toe cap, as their American made boots don't have the option, although their less expensive foreign made ones have several options with toe and heel protection. Also have a set of Red Wings, which are a close second. Just as comfortable, but not quite as good on hardened concrete. Although for the same cost as the Danners, they don't have gore-tex in their American made boots, while the Danners do.

I wear Danner Quarry’s everyday for work. CATV lineman. Best all around boot for comfort and durability. I’ve worn Red Wing, Wolverine, Carolina, Etc etc. $400 Hoffman’s were the most expensive boots I’ve owned. Great boot, super tough but not comfortable for a full day on your feet.

Just try and find some work boots with composite toe, they will be nice and light weight and will offer same protection as steel toe. Find some with laces for even more comfort.

Surprised no one has mentioned Keen Cincinnati boot. Had a pair for a year or so, no complaints and it replaced a old Redwing boot.

Currently giving a shot to Carolina workboots. Favorite of all time was old pair of wolverines that lasted 8 years before the steel fully emerged from the leather. Carolina seemed to be a good next step, but I do like the look of the Danner boots.

I have a pair of composite toe Keen hiking boots. They’re popular in our labs. These are so comfortable I’ve taken them hiking.

Prior to these, I had a few pairs of Ariat western boots.

I have tried so many different safety toes and these are leagues above all of them. They are so comfortable I wear them even when I'm not at work. I get a pair every year, not because they wear out, but because work gives an allowance that is use or lose. All other safety toes I've worn I've had to put Dr Scholl's inserts in to make it through the day, these I don't need them. Plus I don't know if waterproofing is important or not to you but they are definitely waterproof.

I have an 8 year old pair of Chippewa that I love, they really need to be resoled.

The state have me a pair of Keens that have been great so far, but I only have one season in them.

I usually wear Merrill for hiking, but the pair of safety toes I bought fell apart in less than 6 months, same with the Danners, though they were not US made.
