No idea of the name of the species, but used to see those guys all over around here. Been a while since I've seen one. They are cool to watch for sure.

    You should name it lol

If you live in the south,,, I lived in Jacksonville FL for a few years. These spiders blend in perfectly with their background. People called them banana spiders. I walked into it’s web one day,,, do you know how to do the Mexican Hat Dance??? Well I didn’t until I walked into one’s web and I learned REAL FAST!! The damn thing ran down my neck under my shirt down my back and I was taking off my cloths faster then a horney guy,, well you know... It gave me the “he be g bees”

Here we call them zipper spiders. Had several this year in the flower garden. Yours looks like an over achiever. Is that a cicada?

I see I’m not the only one who enjoys this lol
I tried uploading the videos but it wouldn’t let me so I took screenshots.
We started feeding ours grasshoppers and moths. But it got so big we started feeding it lizards.
I have some really cool slow motion videos of it wrapping everything up.
Some of the pictures you can see all the food it’s eaten sitting on the deck below.

That's pretty cool! I dont normally kill spiders. Just remove them from where I dont want them. Had one on the back porch all winter. Named him Fred. Spring came and Fred left. I miss Fred.
